

Basic Material Requirements:
Double knitting / light worsted (No 3) yarn
– small amounts of yarn in 5 colors (yellow, dark pink, green, aqua and purple)
Hook 4,00 mm
Yarn needle
Size: 5 x 5 inch (12, 7 cm)
Skill Level: Easy
Notes:
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I use US Crochet stitch terminology
Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet
FPDC – front post double crochet
HOW TO DO THE FPDC:
Step 1:
Yarn over.
Step 2:
Insert your crochet hook from front to back (right to left if you are a right-handed crocheter), so that it goes around the post that is positioned directly below it in the previous row of your crochet work.
Step 3:
Yarn over and pull through. There should now be three loops on your hook.
Step 4:
Yarn over and pull through two of the three loops that are on the hook.
Step 5:
Yarn over and pull through the remaining two loops on your hook.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Foundation Ring: CH 4 and join with a SL ST to form a ring
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 2 DC into ring; CH 2;
work [3 DC,CH 2] twice into ring; work 3 DC into ring, join with a SL ST into the top of the 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends
RND 2: join new color into any 2 CH space;
CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same space, CH 2, work 2 DC into same space;
work 1 DC into next 3 DC;
*work [2 DC, 2 CH, 2 DC] into next 2 CH space; work 1 DC into next 3 DC.
Repeat from * 3 more times, join with a SL ST into the top of the 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same space, CH 2, work 2 DC into same space;
work 1 DC into next 3 DC;
work 1 FPDC around the middle DC in RND 1;
work 1 DC into next 3 DC:
*work [2 DC, 2 CH, 2 DC] into next 2 CH space;
work 1 DC into next 3 DC;
work 1 FPDC around the middle DC in RND 1;
work 1 DC into next 3 DC.
Repeat from * twice more, join with a SL ST into the top of the 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
RND 4: join new color into any 2 CH space;
CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same space, CH 2, work 2 DC into same space;
work 1 DC into next 11 DC;
*work [2 DC, 2 CH, 2 DC] into next 2 CH space; work 1 DC into next 11 DC.
Repeat from * 3 more times, join with a SL ST into the top of the 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same space, CH 2, work 2 DC into same space;
work 1 DC into next 7 DC;
work 1 FPDC around the FPDC of RND 3;
work 1 DC into next 7 DC:
*work [2 DC, 2 CH, 2 DC] into next 2 CH space;
work 1 DC into next 7 DC;
work 1 FPDC around the FPDC of RND 3;
work 1 DC into next 7 DC.
Repeat from * twice more, join with a SL ST into the top of the 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
