Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

Instructions:
INSTRUCTIONS:
Spaceship:
With double knitting / light worsted (No 3) yarn and 3, 50 mm hook;
Part A:
CH 30; SL ST to form ring;
RND 1: Work 1 SC into each CH; SL ST into first SC (30 SC);
RND 2: CH 1; work 2 SC into first SC; work 1 SC into next 4 STS;
*Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 4 STS.
Repeat from * all around (36 SC); SL ST into first SC
RND 3: CH 1; work 2 SC into first SC; work 1 SC into next 5 STS;
*Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 5 STS.
Repeat from * all around (42 SC); SL ST into first SC
RND 4: CH 1; work 2 SC into first SC; work 1 SC into next 6 STS;
*Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 6 STS.
Repeat from * all around (42 SC); SL ST into first SC
RND 5: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC), work [1 HDC, 2 CH, 2 HDC] into same ST;
*Work 1 HDC into next 3 STS; work 1 SC into next 5 STS, work 1 HDC into next 3 STS;
work [2 HDC, 2 CH, 2 HDC] into next ST. Repeat from * 2 more times;
work 1 HDC into next 3 STS; work 1 SC into next 5 STS, work 1 HDC into next 3 STS;
SL ST into top of 2 CH.
RND 6: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC), work 1 HDC into each ST of previous round and work 3 HDC into each 2 CH corner. SL ST into top of 2 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Part B:
With new yarn;
ROW 1: Work up 18 SC on one of the sides;
ROW 2-4: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC), work 1 HDC into each ST (18 STS)
ROW 5: SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 14 STS; SC2tog (16 STS)
ROW 6: SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 12 STS; SC2tog (14 STS)
ROW 7: SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 10 STS; SC2tog (12 STS)
ROW 8: SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 8 STS; SC2tog (10 STS)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Part C:
With new yarn; CH 4
ROW 1: Work 5 DC into ring (6 DC); TURN
ROW 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same ST. Work 2 DC into each ST until end (12 DC); TURN
ROW 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same ST; work 1 DC into next DC.
*Work 2 DC into next ST; work 1 DC into next ST. Repeat from * until end.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Sew Part C onto top of Part B – see photo
Part D: (Make 2)
With new yarn; CH 6
ROW 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 1 SC into each CH (5 SC); TURN
ROW 2-3: CH 1; work 1 SC into each ST until end (5 SC); TURN
ROW 4: SKIP next 2 SC; work 6 DC into next ST, SKIP next ST; SL ST into last ST.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Sew Part D onto the bottom of Part A – see photo
NOTE: the round part is worked onto Part A
Part E:
With new yarn;
Starting on the bottom of the right side of the ship; SL ST all along the side upwards until Part C; SL ST into the next 8 STS;
Work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC] into next ST; CH 3; SL ST into 2nd CH from hook;
work [1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into next ST.
Continue working SL ST all the way down the other side and along the bottom.
Spaceship Door:
With yarn make a magic circle;
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 11 DC into ring (12 DC); SL ST into top of 3 CH;
RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same ST; work 2 DC into each ST until end (24 DC); SL ST into top of 3 CH;
RND 3: CH 1; work 2 SC into first ST; work 1 SC into next 3 STS.
*Work 2 SC into next ST; work 1 SC into next 3 STS. Repeat from * until end;
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With yarn SL ST into 12 STS, work 2 SC into next 6 STS; SL ST into remaining STS until just before last ST; CH 6 or 8 (depending on type/size of button); SL ST into first SL ST.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Rocket Fire:
Join yarn into the first back loop of the bottom of Part D;
CH 6/7/8; work an assortment of SL ST; SC and HDC into CH.
For exp: CH 8; work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook; work SL ST into next;
work HDC into next; work 1 SC into next; work SL ST into next;
work 1 SC into next; work SL ST into last.
SL ST into next loop:
Repeat instructions 3 more times
Fasten off and weave in ends
Repeat instructions for second rocket.
Stars: (Make in an assortment of colors and as many as you like!) – I made 6
With yarn make a magic circle;
Work 10 SC into ring; SL ST into first SC;
*CH 3; SL ST into 2nd CH from hook; work 1 SC into next CH;
SKIP next SC; SL ST into next SC.
Repeat from * 4 more times.
A Piece Of The Moon:
CH 4
ROW 1: Work 3 DC into 4th CH from hook (4 DC); TURN
ROW 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same ST; work 1 DC into next 2 DC; work 2 DC into last ST (6 DC); TURN
ROW 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same ST; work 1 DC into next 4 DC; work 2 DC into last ST (8 DC); TURN
ROW 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same ST; work 1 DC into next 6 DC; work 2 DC into last ST (10 DC); TURN
ROW 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same ST; work 1 DC into next 8 DC; work 2 DC into last ST (12 DC); TURN

Moon Circles (Craters):
With yarn;
Circle 1: make a magic circle; CH 3; work 11 DC into ring; SL ST into top of 3 CH;
work 2 SC into each DC of previous round.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Circle 2: make a magic circle; CH 3; work 11 DC into ring; SL ST into top of 3 CH.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Circle 3: make a magic circle; work 6/12 SC into ring; SL ST into first SC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
BUILDING THE PAGE:
Whip-stitch appliques into position.
Sew Spaceship (Rocket) onto page – positioning it center left side – see photos
Note: Spaceship is a ‘POCKET’
Sew a button onto one side of the door opening;
and sew the door onto the other side.
Sew stars randomly onto page.
Position moon triangle in the top right corner and sew into position;|
optional – before closing the last side – stuff with a little bit of fiberfill/toy-stuffing
Sew ‘moon craters’ onto the moon.
