For the first border I am doing a simple DC round.
This is how my round worked out:
Please do note this will differ depending if you have made all the blocks and joined them with my layout.
In each corner I made [2 DC, CH 2, 2 DC]
For the top and bottom – I worked up 34 DC for each square: 34 x 5 = 170 plus the 4 DC (2 x 2) from the corners = 174 DC
For the two sides – I worked up 34 DC for 5 squares and 33 for 1 square:
34 x 5 = 170 plus 33 x 1 = 203 plus the 4 DC (2 x 2) from the corners = 207 DC
BORDER RND 1: 762 DC
The reason behind my math is I want each side to be equal to the opposite side and
multiplied by 3  (207 / 3 = 69 and 174 / 3 = 58)
For the second border:
Starting in any corner – CH 3; work 5 DC into the corner; SKIP the next 3 STS; SL ST into the next ST;
*CH 3; work 2 DC into the same ST; SKIP the next 2 STS. ** Repeat from * to ** until the next corner.
# SL ST into next corner; CH 3; work 5 DC into the corner; SKIP the next 3 STS; SL ST into the next ST;
*CH 3; work 2 DC into the same ST; SKIP the next 2 STS. ** Repeat from * to ** until the next corner. ##

Repeat from # to ## two more times until end.

  1. Will you be adding additional rows to the border?

    Thank you so much! I would love to see yours 🙂

  3. Really pretty! Hope you saw mine. I also made a duffle bag out of the “leftover” blocks. I had such a good time keeping up with the CAB, thanks for making it possible.
