Alien Finger Puppets: (Make 4/5 or 6)
With double knitting / light worsted (No 3) yarn and 3, 50 mm hook;
CH 10; SL ST into first CH to form a ring
RND 1: Work 1 SC into each CH all around (10 SC) – continue working in the round – you may require a stitch marker to help keep track of your round;
RND 2-15: Work 1 SC into each ST (10 SC);
Last RND: SC2tog x 5; SL ST into next ST;
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Note: depending on the size of the fingers – adjust your starting CH.
Sew the top opening close; then weave in beads to create ‘ears’ – this is optional!
Glue/sew or embroider on some eyes.
ATTACHING THE MOON TO THE PAGE:
Use pins or stitch markers to pin the bottom part (the straight edge) onto the bottom of the page.
Position the round part neatly (it should form a bubble – think of the moon as a glove); Sew only the top part (the round part) with whip stitch onto the page.
Then sew ONLY the piece in the center part of the bottom to the page;
this will be RND 1- 3 – see photo for guide.
There should be two openings on the bottom of the moon.
Add a few stars all around – find pattern here!
Little hands should fit inside the moon to ‘pop’ the finger alien puppets
out of the ‘button’ holes like the photos below!
