I use US Crochet stitch terminology

Abbreviations:

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)

INSTRUCTIONS:

PART ONE:

THE CENTER SQUARE:

With First Color – Make a magic ring/circle OR CH 6 and SL ST to form a ring.

RND 1: CH 2 (does not count as ST); work 12 DC into ring; SKIP 2 CH and SL ST into top of FIRST DC;

Change color; join in any DC

RND 2: CH 2 (does not count as ST) ; work 2 DC into each DC of previous round (24 DC); SKIP 2 CH;
Change color and SL ST into top of FIRST DC;

RND 3: *Work 1 SC into next 2 DC; SKIP 2 DC; CH 4.
Repeat from * all around ( 6 x 4 CH loops);

RND 4: *Work 1 SC IN-BETWEEN next 2 SC;
work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into next 4 CH loop.
Repeat from * all around (6 petals made).

Change color  – join into any TR of a petal

RND 5: *Work 1 SC into TR; CH 5; work 1 TR into the SC worked in-between the 2 SC of previous round; CH 5.
Repeat from * all around (12 loops made).

RND 6: *Work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into 5 CH loop; SL ST into next TR/or SC.
Repeat from * all around (12 petals made).

Change color – join into any TR of a petal

RND 7: *Work 1 SC into TR; CH 6.
Repeat all around (12 loops made);

RND 8: *Work [ 1 SC; 1 HDC; 2 DC; 1 TR; 2 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into 6 CH loop; SL ST into SC.
Repeat from * all around (12 petals made).

Change color – join into any TR of a petal

RND 9: *Work 1 SC into TR; CH 5; work 1 DC into SL ST; CH 5. Repeat all around (24 loops made);

RND 10: *Work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC]; SL ST into SC/or TR.
Repeat from all around (24 petals made).

Change color – join into any TR of a petal

RND 11: *Work 1 SC into TR; CH 6. Repeat all around (24 loops made);

RND 12: *Work [ 1 SC; 1 HDC; 2 DC; 1 TR; 2 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into 6 CH loop; SL ST into SC.
