Concentration is required.

MATERIALS:
Yarns:

Vinnis Colours – Nikkim 100% cotton yarn

Cotton/DK – or any yarn! Completely your choice!!
Leftover can be used too!

My yarn colors:
Blue-Red – 20/30 g
Ruby Grapefruit – 20/30 g
Natural – 20/30 g
Sage – 20/30 g

Hooks & Notions:
Hook 3.2 5mm
Yarn needle

Notes:
I use US Crochet stitch terminology.
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.

Size: approx 25 cm (10 inches) in diameter

Abbreviations:

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop

Special Stitches:

Starting Cluster: CH 3; work 4DCtog into SAME space

Cluster: work 5DCtog into SAME space

Picot: CH 3; SL ST into 3rd CH from hook – for tutorial check here!

INSTRUCTIONS:

With Natural
make a magic ring or CH 6 and SL ST to form a ring

RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 11 DC into ring;  SL ST into 3rd CH of 3 CH (12 DC)
RND 2: for this round work into back-loops – CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same ST; work 2 DC into each ST all around; SL ST into 3rd CH of 3 CH (24 DC).
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Change color to Ruby Grapefruit
join with a SL ST into any back-loop of a DC

RND 3: *CH 7; work 1 SC INTO 2ND CH FROM HOOK; work 1 SC into next CH;
work 1 HDC into next 2 CH; work 1 DC into next 2 CH;
SKIP next DC of RND 2; SL ST into next DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 7 more times.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Change color to Sage
join with a SC into ANY SKIPPED DC OF RND 2 – this will be the DC underneath a ‘petal’

RND 4: *CH 4; work 1 SC into next skipped DC of RND 2.**
Repeat from * to ** 7 more times.
SL ST into first SC worked;

RND 5: *Work [2 DC; 1 TR; 2 DC] into next 4 CH space; SL ST into next SC.**
Repeat from * to ** 7 more times. SL ST into first SL ST.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

  

Change color to Natural
join with a SC into the FIRST DC of a 5 ST group (2 DC; 1 TR; 2 DC)

RND 6: Work 1 SC into next 4 STS; CH 2;
*SKIP next SL ST; work 1 SC into next 5 STS; CH 2.**
Repeat from * to ** 7 more times. SL ST into first SC worked. (40 SC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Change color to Blue Red
join with a SL ST into any 2nd SC of a 5 SC group;

RND 7: Work STARTING CLUSTER; CH 2; SKIP next SC; work CLUSTER into next SC; CH 2; SKIP next SC;
SL ST into point of a next PETAL; CH 2.
*SKIP next SC; work CLUSTER into next SC; CH 2; SKIP next SC;
work CLUSTER into next SC; CH 2; SKIP next SC;
SL ST into point of a next PETAL; CH 2.**
Repeat from * to ** 6 more times; SL ST into starting Cluster.
(16 x Clusters; 24 x 2 CH spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Change color to Natural
join with a SC into any 2 CH space BEFORE A PETAL;

RND 8: *CH 2; work 1 SC into NEXT 2 CH SPACE;
(CH 3; work 1 SC into NEXT 2 CH SPACE) X 2.**
Repeat from * to ** all around; SL ST into first SC worked.
(24 SC; 8 x 2 CH spaces; 16 x 3 CH spaces)

NOTE: for the next round you will NOT be working into the CH spaces BUT into the CH stitches!

RND 9: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC); work 1 HDC into next 2 CH;
(work 1 HDC into next SC; work 1 HDC into next 3 CH) x 2.
*Work 1 HDC into next SC; work 1 HDC into next 2 CH;
(work 1 HDC into next SC; work 1 HDC into next 3 CH) x 2.**
Repeat from * to ** all around. SL ST into 2nd of 2 CH.

join with a SL ST into any HDC

RND 10: for this round work into back-loops only -CH 4 (counts as 1 TR); work 1 TR into each HDC all around;

join with a SC into any TR

RND 11: for this round work into back-loops only – work 1 SC into each TR all around.
