INSTRUCTIONS:
PART FOUR:
You will first work on one side of the BIG SQUARE ONLY – The RIGHT SIDE should be facing towards you!
NOTES: I worked into the back-loops of the square BUT this is optional!
Check the photo below to see on what side I worked:
change color – join into FIRST SC
ROW 1: CH 4 (counts as 1 TR) OR do a STANDING TR; work 1 TR into each SC across (58 TR)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Small Flower Hexagon Squares:
You should have 13 SC on each side of each square;
work the 5 squares together – as shown in photo.
DO NOT use a bulky join – I sewed my squares together using the back loops.
The SL ST method is suitable.
The reason for this is that we do not want our squares to suddenly be bigger than the piece it will eventually be added to – then it will warp and pull 😉
Join new color into the corner space of the first square with an SC – see photo
NOTE: you will NOT be working into the corner spaces of the inside squares!!
ROW 1: (Work 1 SC into next 13 SC; work 1 SC into the JOIN) x 5 times;
work 1 SC into corner CH space.
You SHOULD have now 71 SC – 13 x 5= 65 plus the 4 SC for each join = 69 plus the 2 SC for the corners = 71 SC
ROW 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); SKIP NEXT SC; (work V-ST into next SC; SKIP NEXT 2 SC) x 22;
work V-ST into next SC; SKIP NEXT SC; work 1 DC into last SC; TURN
ROW 3-4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); (work V-ST into next 1 CH space) x 23; work 1 DC into 3rd of 3 CH; TURN
Fasten off and weave in ends.
change color – note – you can start new color with a STANDING DC
ROW 5-7: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); (work V-ST into next 1 CH space) x 23; work 1 DC into 3rd of 3 CH; TURN
Fasten off and weave in ends.
change color – note – you can start new color with a STANDING DC
ROW 8-10: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); (work V-ST into next 1 CH space) x 23; work 1 DC into 3rd of 3 CH; TURN
Fasten off and weave in ends.
change color – note – you can start new color with a STANDING DC
ROW 11-13: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); (work V-ST into next 1 CH space) x 23; work 1 DC into 3rd of 3 CH; TURN
Fasten off and weave in ends.
