I will be using my cotton yarn leftovers for this project. Since I am re-making this for my daughter and she is going thru a ‘pink’ craze…my colors will be predominantly pink.

THE STRAP; SIDES & BOTTOM:

NOTE:  I did this all in one as follows;

I took my starting CH amount – 42 (this is without the plus 3) – so depending on your size you will start with either – 42 or 56 or 70.
Then depending on how many rows I added – I add 2 for every DC row and 1 for every SC row – so that gave me 29 – I have two sides so it is 29 x 2  = 58.

So to start I add my 42 with 58 = total 100 – this will be my sides and bottom.
I added another 100 for my strap.

This is the basic formula I use to make my FIRST foundation CH

With 1st color yarn CH 201 – this will differ depending on your size and added rows plus I added a CH

ROW 1: work 1 HDC into 2nd CH from hook; work 1 HDC into each CH until end (200 HDC).
Fasten off and weave in ends.

NOTE: count a 100 HDC from the START and place a STITCH MARKER.

With 2nd color yarn CH 101

ROW 2: work 1 HDC into 2nd CH from hook; work 1 HDC into each CH until end (100 HDC);
continue working HDC from the place STITCH MARKER in row 1 – (200 HDC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With 3rd color yarn CH 101 – repeat ROW 2.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

The ‘loose’ sections will form the STRAP.

Pleat/Twist – like you would do to hair – the 3 strips together – clasp the ends together with a stitch marker or temporary SLIP KNOT.
