Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
Concentration required.
Yarn: Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3 : Light – I used cotton yarn – check the main introduction page!
Hook: 4,00 mm (G)
Size: 23 cm x 23 cm (approx. 9 inches)
Notes:
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I use US Crochet stitch terminology
Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – treble crochet
BLP – back loop

Special Stitches:
V-ST: work [1 DC; 1 CH; 1 DC] into same space/chain
FPDC – front post double crochet
Insert your hook into the front of your work, behind the indicated stitch, and then through your work such that your hook is now at the front of your work again. Pull through final 2 loops on your hook

- Natural – color B
- Butternut – color C
- Teal – color D
- Seafoam – color E
- Thunder – color F
- Cherry – color G

INSTRUCTIONS:
With Color B
CH 8; SL ST into first CH to form a ring
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 15 DC into ring (16 DC);
RND 2: *SL ST in-between next 2 DC; CH 3; SKIP next 2 DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 7 more times; SL ST into 1st CH of first 3 CH loop.
(8 x 3 CH loops)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With color G; join into any 3 CH loop
RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 2 DC into SAME space; CH 1.
*Work 3 DC into next 3 CH space; CH 1.**
Repeat from *to** 6 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With color B; join into any 1 CH space
RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 CH; 1 DC] into SAME space; CH 1; SKIP NEXT DC; work FPDC around next DC; CH 1; SKIP next DC.
*Work V-ST into next 1 CH space; CH 1; SKIP NEXT DC; work FPDC around next DC; CH 1; SKIP next DC.**
Repeat from *to** 6 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
NOTE: the next part is not classified as a round but as surface crochet;
TIP: to make it easier to work – fold the flower in half – just remember to keep the right way facing towards you!
With color F;
join with a SC around the SL ST of RND 2 BENEATH A V- ST; CH 3 (if your tension is very tight CH 4);
SL ST into RND 4 FPDC; CH 3 (if your tension is very tight CH 4).
*SC around next SL ST of RND 2 BENEATH A V- ST; CH 3 (if your tension is very tight CH 4);
SL ST into RND 4 FPDC; CH 3 (if your tension is very tight CH 4).**
Repeat from *to**6 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With color G; join into any 1 CH space of a V-ST.
RND 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 2 DC into 1 CH space; CH 1; work 1 DC into next 1 CH space; CH 1;
SKIP FPDC; work 1 DC into next 1 CH space; CH 1.
