ATASI CROCHET HEXAGON

Atasi Crochet Hexagon- Free Crochet Pattern

This Atasi Crochet Hexagon is part of the Blues Melody Crochet Hexagon Lap Blanket Crochet Along.
A quick fun hexagon to work up. Atasi meaning –  A traditional blue flower.

Difficulty Level/Skill Required: Easy
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.

You will need to know basic stitches like the DC (double crochet).

Materials
Hook – 3, 75 mm (F)
Scissors
Yarn needle

Yarn:
Nurturing Fibres – Eco-Cotton DK (50 grams/136 yards/119 meters)
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.

Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK yarn (Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light Worsted), but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.

Tension | Gauge
With yarn listed and 3, 75 mm (F) hook hexagons should measure approx. 13 cm (5 inches) in diameter. However, gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect but your hexagons need to be all the same size.

Size
Hexagon – 5 x 5 inch (13 x 13 cm)

Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your blanket will be a different size!

• Aqua – A
• Baltic – B
• Vanilla – C
• Mist – D
• Anvil – E
• Cobblestone – F
• Charcoal – G
• Pecan – H

With A

CH 6; SL ST to form a ring

RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into ring; (CH 3; work 2 DC into ring) 5 times; CH 3; SL ST into 3^rd of 3 CH.  (6 x 2 DC groups = 12 DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Join C into any 3 CH space

RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 3; 2 DC] into same space; CH 1.*Work [2 DC; CH 3; 2 DC] into next 3 CH space; CH 1.** Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into 3^rd of 3 CH.
(12 x 2 DC groups = 24 DC)
Fasten  off and weave in ends.

Join B into any 3 CH space

RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 3; 2 DC] into same space; work 1 FPDC around next 2 DC; CH 1. *Work 1 FPDC around next 2 DC; work [2 DC; CH 3; 2 DC] into next 3 CH space;
work 1 FPDC around next 2 DC; CH 1.** Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into 3^rd of 3 CH.
(12 x 2 DC groups = 24 DC; 24 FPDC)
Fasten  off and weave in ends.

Join D into any 3 CH space

Note: for this round work into back-loops

RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 3; 2 DC] into same space; work 1 DC into next 2 DC and 2 FPDC; CH 1; work 1 DC into next 2 FPDC and 2 DC. *Work [2 DC; CH 3; 2 DC] into next 3 CH space; work 1 DC into next 2 DC and 2 FPDC; CH 1; work 1 DC into next 2 FPDC and 2 DC.** Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into 3^rd of 3 CH.
(72 DC)
Fasten  off and weave in ends.

Join A into any 3 CH space

Note: for this round work into back-loops

RND 5: Work 1 SC into same space; work 1 SC into next 6 DC; work 1 TR into 1 CH space of RND 2; work 1 SC into next 6 DC. *Work 1 SC into next 3 CH space; work 1 SC into next 6 DC; work 1 TR into 1 CH space of RND 2; work 1 SC into next 6 DC.** Repeat form * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into 3^rd of 3 CH.
(12 SC per side; 6 TR; 6 SC – 1 for each corner) – you should have 13 STS for each side – NOT including corner SC.
Fasten  off and weave in ends.
