Tension is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect – same type of yarn and hook throughout the project is recommended.

SKILL LEVEL:
Easy
Basic stitches, and simple shaping and finishing

Size: 12 cm in length and 13 cm at widest part

INSTRUCTIONS:

My hook: 3.50 mm (E) Clover
Optional – Ribbon – approx 30 cm

Stitch Explanation:
  • DC2tog (double crochet 2 stitches together) –
    Yarn over (YO) hook, insert hook in stitch(st) , pull up a loop, 3 loops on hook.  YO hook, pull through 2 loops.  YO hook insert in next st, pull up a loop, 4 loops on hook.  YO, pull through 2 loops, 3 loops on hook. YO pull through last 3 loops.  One DC2tog made.
  • Picot – 
    CH 3; SL ST into 3rd CH from hook.
 
Bag is worked in the round.
 
With Sunshine (A) – make a magic ring/or CH 6; SL ST into first CH to form a ring
 
Rnd 1: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); work 12 DC into ring;  SL ST into first DC. (12 DC)
Rnd 2: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); 2 DC in same ST, 2 DC in each DC until end, SL ST into first DC. (24 DC)
Rnd 3: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); 2 DC in same ST, 1 DC in next ST, *2 DC in next ST, 1 DC in next ST, repeat from * until end, SL ST into first DC. (36 DC)
Rnd 4: for this rnd only work in back loops, CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); 1 HDC in each ST; SL ST into first HDC.  (36 DC)
Rnd 5: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); 2 DC in same ST, 1 DC in next 2 STS, *2 DC in next ST, 1 DC in next 2 STS, repeat from * until end, SL ST into first DC. (48 DC)
Rnd 6: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); 2 DC in same ST; 1 DC in next 3 STS, *2 DC in next ST, 1 DC in next 3 STS, repeat from * until end, SL ST into first DC. (60 DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With Royal Blue (B) – join into any DC
Rnd 7: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); 1 DC in each ST until end, SL ST into first DC. (60 DC)
Rnd 8: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); *DC2tog, 1 DC in next 3 STS, repeat from* until last 2 STS, 1 DC in each ST, SL ST into first DC. (48 DC)
Rnd 9: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); *DC2tog, 1 DC in next 2 STS, repeat from* until last ST, 1 DC in ST, SL ST into first DC. (36 DC)
Rnd 10: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); 1 DC in each ST until end, SL ST into first DC. (36 DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With Baby Blue (C) – join into any DC
Rnd 11: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); 1 DC in each ST until end, SL ST into first DC. (36 DC)
Rnd 12: CH 1; work 1 SC into each DC until end; SL ST into first SC. (36 SC)
Rnd 13: CH 1; work 1 SC; *Picot; SKIP next SC; work 1 SC into next 2 SC.**
Repeat from * to ** until last 2 STS; Picot; SKIP next SC; work 1 SC into last SC; SL ST into first SC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Optional – Surface Crochet – with Natural (D)
Work up a SL ST round in-between Rnd 8 & 9
 
Make a Slip Knot; remove hook; inserting hook from FRONT to BACK; pull Slip Knot thru to the front.
Proceed with working SL ST all around.
TIP – the space/hole that you pull your yarn thru is the top of Round 8 DC stitches.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Optional – Ribbon
Weave Ribbon with a big eye needle (wool needle) alternatively thru Rnd 11 DC stitches – see photos below.
Done – fill bag with goodies!
