Abbreviations:  US Terminology

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

Instructions:

NB: take NOTE on the RS – right side and WS – wrong side and your stitch count!

Section 1:

With Steel Grey (approx 30 g) – CH 121 (Pattern repeat is multiples of 12 plus 1)

Note: the CH 2 at the start of Row 2 is also your turning chain for Row 3.

Special Stitch:
FPHDC: Front Post Half Double Crochet

(RS) Row 1: work 1 SC into 2^nd CH from hook; work 1 SC into each foundation CH until end (120 SC); TURN.
(WS)Row 2: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC); SKIP 1^st and 2^nd SC; work 1 HDC into next SC; work 1 FPHDC around HDC just worked.
*SKIP next SC; work 1 HDC into next SC; work 1 FPHDC around HDC just worked.**
Repeat from * to ** until end; work 1 HDC into last SC; TURN.
Row 3: CH 1; work 1 SC into each Back-loop of each HDC until end; work 1 SC into turning chain; TURN.
Row 4; 6 and 8: Repeat Row 2.
Row 5 and 7: Repeat Row 3.
(RS) Row 9: Repeat Row 3 (120 SC).
Fasten off and weave in ends.
