Crochet A Block 2021 Square Layout Guide:

I created this guide to help those who like to plan beforehand and for those who might find making 25 squares daunting.
This crochet a block 2021 consists of 25 mystery squares which will after completion be joined together in a 5 x 5 row blanket = this is 5 squares across and 5 squares down.

Below is an image of how I am planning to join the squares for this crochet along:
I have divided the 25 squares into 5 stitch themes – this means that there will be 5 squares with the same type of stitching but layered differently and the same last 5 rounds (border rounds).

Understanding my image:
The squares Numbered 1 = will all have the same ‘theme’ – in other words will match with the type of stitches and border.
The same for the squares Numbered 2 = BUT they will differ in construction and so on.

This is to keep a sense of that the squares all match yet don’t but in the end all work together to create the blanket.

So for the first 5 squares you will see a repetitive border and same inner stitches used, but these will not be repeated for the remaining squares. Then the next 5 will again have the same type of border to match and inner stitches.
To better understand – each set of 5 squares will match each other – but is spread out in the layout of the blanket to match  and bring the blanket in harmony together.

For example: Each square marked 1 will follow the SAME theme. Each square marked 2 will follow a theme, and so on!

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A COLOR GUIDE! For the color guide please click HERE!

REMEMBER: This is a guide ONLY – and it is NOT necessary for the final construction of the blanket, this will be the layout I will be using to join my squares – however YOU are not limited to the layout above. You are in control of your blanket and the number of squares you make and how YOU want them to be laid out.
