Mommy and Me Vol One Leftover Yarn Crochet Ideas
Difficulty Level | Skills Required
Easy
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.
You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.
Materials
- Hook – 3, 50 mm (E)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Yarn:
Vinnis Colours Nikkim
(cotton yarn) scraps/leftovers ranging between 5 g – 10 g per color
Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK yarn (Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light Worsted), but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.
Tension | Gauge
Gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.
However COUNTING your stitches will ensure a true success of this project!
Size
Given in the instuctions.
Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your project will be a different size!

Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

Instructions:
Flower Bracelet:
With yarn make a magic ring/ or CH 6; SL ST to form ring.
RND 1: CH 2 (does not counts as a ST); work 12 DC into ring; SLST into first DC made.
RND 2: work [CH 3; 2 DC] into first DC; *SKIP next DC; SL ST into next DC; work [CH 3; 2 DC] into next DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into first DC of previous round. (6 petals)
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Approx size of flower:
2 inches (5 cm) from petal point to petal point.
Make between 4/5/6 flowers:
Measure around wrist for size. Use finishing tail to attach flowers to each other in-between petals and weave in ends on wrong side of Flowers.
Another Idea For the Flower: Attach a flower to a hairclip!

Mug Rug:
This fun and very quick to make – you can use any stitch pattern!
With yarn CH 21
Stitch Pattern: Up And Down
(RS) Row: work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook; work 1 SC into each CH until end (20 SC); TURN
Pattern Row: CH 1; work 1 SC into First SC; work 1 DC into next SC. *Work 1 SC into next SC; work 1 DC into next SC. ** Repeat from * to ** until end (20 STS); TURN Repeat Pattern Row and change colour on a RS row.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Approx size: 5 x 5 inches (13 x 13 cm)
