Yarn usage:  approx 20-25 grams for each color.

With 5th color – join into first SC

Special Stitch:
V-ST – work [1 DC; 1 CH; 1 DC] into same ST.

RS ROW 63: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC until end; TURN. (59 SC)

ROW 64: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); *work 1 DC into next 3 SC; work V-ST.**
Repeat from * to ** 8 more times; work 1 DC into next 4 SC; TURN.

ROW 65: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); *work V-ST; work 3 DC over next V-ST.**
Repeat from * to ** 8 more times; work V-ST; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN.

ROW 66: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC): *work 3 DC over next V-ST; work V-ST.**
Repeat from * to ** 8 more times; work 3 DC over next V-ST; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN.

ROW 67: CH 1; work 1 SC into each ST and 1 CH space until end. (59 SC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With 6th color – join into first SC

RS ROW 68: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC until end; TURN. (59 SC)

ROW 69: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); *work 1 DC into next SC; CH 1; SKIP next SC; work 1 DC into next SC.** Repeat from * to **  18 more times; work 1 DC into last SC; TURN.

ROW 70: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); *work 1 DC into next DC; CH 1; SKIP next CH; work 1 DC into next DC.** Repeat from * to ** 18 more times; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN.

ROW 71: Repeat Row 70.

ROW 72: CH 1; work 1 SC into each DC and 1 CH space until end; (59 SC).
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Work a SC (single crochet) row along top and bottom of piece as follows:

With yarn – work up 129 SC along top – you will start with the big square.

NOTE: you have to work ST very loosely – use a size larger hook if possible – especially if you have a tight tension it is highly recommended.

ROW: CH 1; work 1 SC into corner space; work 184 evenly across.
Repeat this for the other side.

Joining:

Using the SL ST method –join piece to main piece at ROW 22 from Section 6.

Border:

Yarn usage:  approx 40-45 grams of color.

NOTE: For this round I recommend using a 4,00 mm Hook, or if you are using a different size hook, a size larger.

Join into first SC of Big Square

RND 1: CH 1; work 1 SC into first SC; work 1 SC into next 56 SC; work 3SCtog (into corner; into join; into SC);
work (6 SC over next pattern strip) x 5 times;
work 1 SC into next 52 SC;
work (6 SC over next pattern strip) x 4 times;
work 7 SC over next pattern strip; = 171 SC
work [1 SC; 2 CH; 1 SC] into next SC;
work 1 SC into each SC until last SC; = 185 SC
work [1 SC; 2 CH; 1 SC] into last SC;
work 7 SC over next pattern strip;
work (6 SC over next pattern strip) x 4 times;
work 1 SC into next 52 SC;
work (6 SC over next pattern strip) x 5 times;
work 3SCtog (into corner; into join; into SC);
work 1 SC into next 56 SC; = 171 SC
work [1 SC; 2 CH; 1 SC] into last SC;
work 1 SC into each SC until last SC; = 185 SC
work [1 SC; 2 CH; 1 SC] into last SC; SL ST into first SC worked.
(171 SC + 185 SC + 171 SC + 185 SC + 8 corner SC = 720 SC)

RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); *work 1 DC into each ST until 2 CH corner; work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into 2 CH space.** Repeat from * to ** 3 times more; work 1 DC into next ST; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Size:  Approx. Length = 45 inch / 113 cm Width = 40 inches / 105 cm
Note = my blanket needs some serious blocking ;P
