SPECIAL STITCHES

SC2tog (decrease): work 2 (two) single crochet stitches together.

SC4tog (decrease: work 4 (four) single crochet stitches together.

INSTRUCTIONS

This is OPTIONAL – Facial Features can be done to specific requirements or preferences.

Embroidering the Facial Features:

Below is a detailed photo tutorial of how the facial features were done.

Small amounts of Black, White, Eye Color (aqua), Mouth Color (dark peach) and Skin Color are required.

  • Eye color – Start at the top of the head – tie a knot.
  • Follow photo tutorial.
  • Weave back through the top of head and fasten off.
  • Eye White color – Start at the top of the head – tie a knot.
  • Follow photo tutorial.
  • Weave back through the top of head and fasten off.
  • Eyelash Black color – Start at the top of the head – tie a knot.
  • Follow photo tutorial.
  • Weave back through the top of head and fasten off.
  • Nose Skin color – Start at the top of the head – tie a knot.
  • Follow photo tutorial.
  • Weave back through the top of head and fasten off.
  • Mouth color – Start at the top of the head – tie a knot.
  • Follow photo tutorial.
  • Weave back through the top of head and fasten off.

IF USING MY HAIR INSTRUCTIONS – DO NOT ATTACH HAIR TO HEAD!
If hair is attached to head it will hinder the body construction in the next part!
The hair is attached in photos for showcasing ONLY and for photography.

With  3, 00 mm hook (I used Clover)

Adding the Hair:

This is OPTIONAL – Hair can be done to specific requirements or preferences.

With yarn make a magic circle (this is recommended, however if you do not know how or struggle with this method, CH 4; SL ST into 4 CH from hook to form a ring.)

Note: you will be working in continuous rounds, using a stitch marker to mark your first stitch is recommended. Count your stitches!

 
RND 1: CH 1; work 6 SC into circle/ring. (6 SC)
RND 2: work 2 SC into each SC all around. (12 SC)
RND 3: *work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next SC.** Repeat from * to ** 5 more times. (18SC)
RND 4: *work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 2 SC.** Repeat from * to ** 5 more times. (24SC)
RND 5: *work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 3 SC.**Repeat from * to ** 5 more times. (30SC)
RND 6: *work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 4 SC.**Repeat from * to ** 5 more times. (36SC)
RND 7: *work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 5 SC.**Repeat from * to ** 5 more times. (42SC)
RND 8: *work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 6 SC.**Repeat from * to ** 5 more times. (48SC)
RND 9: *work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 7 SC.**Repeat from * to ** 5 more times. (54SC)
RND 10: *work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 8 SC.**Repeat from * to ** 5 more times. (60SC)
RND 11: work 1 SC into each SC all around. (60SC)

Repeat RND 11 until RND 14.

RND 12 RND 13 RND 14

Turn hair around – wrong side facing towards you.

Note: you will be working into the back loops only.

The Hair Strands:

*CH 81; work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook; work 1 SC into each chain until end. (80 SC)
SL ST into next 2 back loops. **
Repeat from * to ** 15 more times. (16 Hair Strands)

Fasten off and leave a tail (approx. 16 inches /40 cm) for weaving.
