
Scrapsantastic Crochet Throw Part One – Free Crochet Along
The Scrapsantastic Crochet Throw Part one is part of a fun, unique blanket crochet along worked in a variety of stitches and squares.
A puzzle constructed as you crochet.

Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS
With 3, 50 mm (E) hook
Hexagon Design One: – Make 4
Colors:
- A – Natural
- B – Baby Yellow
- C – Kingfisher
- D – Raspberry
With A – make a magic circle (this is recommended, however if you do not know how or struggle with this method, CH 4; SL ST into 4 CH from hook to form a ring.)
RND 1: CH 2 (does NOT count as a stitch); work 12 DC into ring; SL ST into first DC worked.
(12 DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With B – join into any DC.
RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 FPDC around SAME DC.
*Work 1 DC into next DC; 1 FPDC around SAME DC. ** Repeat from * to ** 10 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(12 DC; 12 FPDC = 24 STS)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With C – join into any DC (NOT FPDC)
Note: IF you have a TIGHT tension add a CH to the 2 CH space – i.e. CH 3.
RND 3: Work Starting 5HDC Popcorn; SKIP next FPDC; CH 2.
*Work 5HDC Popcorn into next DC; SKIP next FPDC; CH 2. **
Repeat from * to ** 10 more times; SL ST into top of starting HDC Popcorn.
(12 HDC Popcorns; 12 x 2 CH spaces = 24 STS)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With D – join into any 2 CH space.
RND 4: Work [1 SC; 1 FPDC around RND 2 FPDC; 1 SC] into 2 CH space; work 1 FPSC around next Popcorn.
*Work [1 SC; 1 FPDC around RND 2 FPDC; 1 SC] into next 2 CH space; work 1 FPSC around next Popcorn. **
Repeat from * to ** 10 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
RND 5: SL ST into next FPDC; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into SAME FPDC; work 1 DC into next ST; work 1 HDC into next 2 STS; work 1 SC into next FPDC; work 1 HDC into next 2 STS; work 1 DC into next ST.
*Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next FPDC; work 1 DC into next ST; work 1 HDC into next 2 STS; work 1 SC into next FPDC; work 1 HDC into next 2 STS; work 1 DC into next ST. **
Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(11 STS on each side in-between corner 2 CH spaces – 66 STS in total; 6 x 2 CH corner spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Hexagon Design Two: – Make 4
Colors:
- A – Natural
- B – Lilac
- C – Mint
With A – make a magic circle (this is recommended, however if you do not know how or struggle with this method, CH 4; SL ST into 4 CH from hook to form a ring.)
RND 1: CH 2 (does NOT count as a stitch); work 12 DC into ring; SL ST into first DC worked.
(12 DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With B – Join into any DC.
RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into SAME DC. Work 2 DC into each DC all around; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(24 DC)
RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into SAME DC; work 1 DC into next DC. *Work 2 DC into next DC; work 1 DC into next DC. ** Repeat from * to ** 10 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(36 DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With C – Join into any DC.
RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2 DC; CH 2; 3 DC] into SAME DC; work 1 DC into next DC; work 1 HDC into next DC; work 1 SC into next DC; work 1 HDC into next DC; work 1 DC into next DC. *Work [3 DC; CH 2; 3 DC] into next DC; work 1 DC into next DC; work 1 HDC into next DC; work 1 SC into next DC; work 1 HDC into next DC; work 1 DC into next DC. **
Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(11 STS on each side in-between corner 2 CH spaces – 66 STS in total; 6 x 2 CH corner spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Little Square Design: – Make 6 (2 of each color)
Tip – when you are working the SL STS – slip stitch into the back-loop only.
Colors:
- Pale Lilac
- Ballet Pink
- Blue Bell
With A – make a magic circle (this is recommended, however if you do not know how or struggle with this method, CH 4; SL ST into 4 CH from hook to form a ring.)
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 2 DC; CH 2. *Work 3 DC into ring; CH 2. ** Repeat from * to ** two more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(12 DC; 4 x 2 CH corner spaces)
RND 2: SL ST into next 2 DC; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into 2 CH corner space; work 1 DC into each of next 3 DC. *Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next 2 CH corner space; work 1 DC into each of next 3 DC. ** Repeat from * to ** two more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(7 DC on each side = 28 DC; 4 x 2 CH corner spaces)
RND 3: SL ST into next DC; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into 2 CH corner space; work 1 DC into next DC; work 1 HDC into each of next 2 DC; work 1 SC into next DC; work 1 HDC into each of next 2 DC; work 1 DC into next DC.
