This Orange Flower Cocktail Crochet Scarf is a quick and fun accessory to make for yourself or as a gift.


Orange Flower Cocktail Crochet Scarf
Difficulty Level | Skills Required
Easy
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.
You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.
Materials
- Hook – 5,00 mm (H) & 4, 50 mm
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Yarn:
Elle Alula Double Knit 200g / 600 m / 656 yards – 100 % acrylic.
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.
- 1 x 601 Cardinal 200g ball (I used 1 ball for both the scarf and the hat)
For the flower appliques:
Vinnis Colours Serina 100% Bamboo – small amounts (10 g tots)
- A – mustard 604
- B – Camo Green 641
- C – Crimson 673
Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK yarn (Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light Worsted), but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.
Tension | Gauge
Gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.
Size
Approx. Length = 68 inch / 174 cm Width = 7 inches / 18 cm
Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your scarf will be a different size!

- This scarf can be made into any size. Pattern stitch is easily adjustable.

Ribbed Edge:
ROW 1: Work 1 DC into 3rd DC from hook; work 1 DC into each ch until end; (35 DC) TURN.
ROW 2: CH 2 (this counts as 1 DC); *work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 BPDC around next DC. ** Repeat from * to ** until last 2 DC; work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN.
ROW 3: CH 2 (this counts as 1 DC); work 1 BPDC around next DC; work 1 FPDC around next DC. ** Repeat from * to ** until last 2 DC; work 1 BPDC around next DC; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN.
ROW 4: Repeat ROW 2.
ROW 5: Repeat ROW 3.
Scarf Pattern:
ROW 6: CH 2 (counts as 1 DC); SKIP next ST; work V-ST (special stitches) into next ST; *SKIP next 2 STS; work V-ST into next ST. ** Repeat from * to ** 9 more times; SKIP next ST; work 1 DC into last ST; TURN.
ROW 7: CH 2 (counts as 1 DC); *work V-ST into next CH space. ** Repeat from * to ** 10 more times; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN. (11 x V-STS; 2 DC)
Repeat row 7 for until scarf measures approx 66 inches (169 cm) – or as long as required.
Ribbed Edge:
ROW 1: CH 2 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC itno each DC and CH space; work 1 DC into last DC. (35 DC)
ROW 2: CH 2 (this counts as 1 DC); *work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 BPDC around next DC. ** Repeat from * to ** until last 2 DC; work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN.
ROW 3: CH 2 (this counts as 1 DC); work 1 BPDC around next DC; work 1 FPDC around next DC. ** Repeat from * to ** until last 2 DC; work 1 BPDC around next DC; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN.
ROW 4: Repeat ROW 2.
ROW 5: Repeat ROW 3.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Flower Applique: – Make 2 or as many as required.
With A – make a magic ring/ or CH 6; SL ST into first CH to form a ring.
RND 1: CH 2 (does not count as ST); work 12 DC into ring; SL ST into first DC worked. (12 DC)
RND 2: *CH 3; SKIP next DC; work 1 SC into next DC. ** Repeat from * to ** 5 more times; (6 SC; 6 x 3 CH spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends – TIP leave a tail for sewing.
With B – join into any 3 CH.
RND 3: CH 1; work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into 3 CH space. *Work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into next 3 CH space. **
Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With C – join into and SKIPPED RND 1 DC.
RND 4: CH 1; work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into DC. *Work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into next SKIPPED DC. **
Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
I attached a flower on each end of the scarf.
