Difficulty Level | Skills Required

Easy to intermediate
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.

You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.

Materials

• Hook – 3, 50 mm (E)
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
• Stitch Markers
• 1 x small flower button
• 5 x 14mm Press Studs

Yarn:

• Elle Charity Print – Variegated – (I used Sweet Treats – now discontinued) x 100 grams DK
• Elle Charity Pink – 100 grams DK
• Elle Charity White – 100 grams DK

Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK yarn (Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light Worsted).
Using the same yarn weight is required with the hook size recommended

9 STS x 5 ROWS = 5cm x 5cm worked with size 3.50mm hook

With pink yarn and 3.50mm Hook – CH 64

Row 1: Work 1DC in 4th CH from hook, work 1DC into next 8STS, 3DC into next ST, 1DC into next 14STS, 3DC into next ST, 1DC into next 10STS, 3DC into next ST, 1DC into next 14 STS, 3DC into next ST, 1DC into next 10, turn (70 DC)

Row 2: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into next 9STS, 3DC into next ST, 1DC into next 16STS, 3DC into next ST, 1DC into next 14STS, 3DC into next ST, 1DC into next 16STS, 3DC into next ST, 1DC into next 10STS, turn (78 DC)

Shape Armholes:

Row 3: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into next 10STS, SKIP next 18STS, 1DC into next 20STS, SKIP next 18STS, 1DC into next 11STS, turn (42 DC)

DO NOT TURN CONTINUE WORKING IN THE ROUND SL ST into 3rd of 3CH

Rnd 4 – 7: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC in each ST till end, SL ST into 3rd of 3CH (42 DC)

Rnd 8: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into same ST as 3CH, work 1DC into next 6STS. *Work 2DC into next ST, work 1DC into next 6STS. **
Repeat from * to ** until end (48 DC) SL ST into 3rd of 3CH

Rnd 9-10: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC in each ST till end, SL ST into 3rd of 3CH (48 DC)

Rnd 11: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into next 5STS, DC2tog. *Work 1 DC into next 6STS, DC2tog. ** Repeat from * to ** until end (42 DC) SL ST into 3rd of 3CH

Rnd 12: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC in each ST till end, SL ST into 3rd of 3CH (42 DC)

Back Of Bodysuit:

Join pink yarn with a SL ST at the first ST next to the ST SL of the last row.

Row 1: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into next 8, work 1 DC into top of 3CH of previous row STS (10 DC), turn

Row 2: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into next 8STS, work 1 DC into top of 3CH of previous row (10 DC), turn

Row 3: 3CH (counts as DC), DC2tog, work 1DC into next 4STS, DC2tog, work 1 DC into top of 3CH of previous row (8 DC), turn

Row 4-8: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into next 6STS, work 1DC into top of 3CH of previous row (8 DC), turn

Row 9: 3CH (counts as DC), work 2DC into next ST, work 1DC into next 4STS, work 2DC into next ST, work 1DC into top of 3CH of previous row, turn

Row 10: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into next 8, work 1 DC into top of 3CH of previous row STS (10 DC). Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Front Of Bodysuit:

Join pink yarn with a SL ST at the first ST next to the ST SL of the last row.

Row 1: Work 1SC into next ST, work 1HDC into next ST, work 1DC into next 10STS, work 1HDC into next ST, work 1SC into next ST, work SL ST into next ST.

Continue working in the round and SL ST loosely all around, cut yarn and weave in ends.

Attach 2 Press Studs at the bottom and 1 Press Stud at the back.  Sew on flower button over press stud at the back.

Beanie:

With pink yarn and 3.50mm Hook – CH 4.
Rnd 1: Work 11DC into 4th CH from hook, SL ST into 3rd of 3CH (12 DC)

Rnd 2: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into same ST as 3CH, work 2DC into each ST (24 DC), SL ST into 3rd of 3CH

Rnd 3: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into same ST as 3CH, work 1DC into next ST. *Work 2DC into next ST, work 1DC into next ST. ** Repeat from * to ** until end, SL ST into 3rd of 3CH (36 DC)

Rnd 4: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into same ST as 3CH, work 1DC into next 2STS. *Work 2DC into next ST, work 1DC into next 2STS. ** Repeat from * to ** until end, SL ST into 3rd of 3CH (48 DC)

Rnd 5: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into same ST as 3CH, work 1DC into next 3STS. *Work 2DC into next ST, work 1DC into next 3STS. Repeat from * until end, SL ST into 3rd of 3CH (60 DC)

Rnd 6-9: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC into each ST until end, SL ST into 3rd of 3CH (60 DC)

Rnd 10: Loosely SL ST into each ST, cut yarn and weave in ends.

Flower:

With white yarn and 3.50mm Hook – make a magic circle / or CH 6 and SL ST into first CH.

Rnd1: CH1, work 12SC into ring, join with a SL ST into 1st SC

Rnd 2: CH1, work 3DC into 1SC, *CH1, SL ST into next ST, CH1, work 3DC into next ST, repeat from * 5 more times to make 6 petals, join with a SL ST into back loop of CH1

Work next round at the back of flower to create 6 loops:

Rnd 3: *CH2, miss 1st petal, SL ST into back of next SL ST, repeat from * to end, join with a SL ST into 1st CH at beginning of round. Cut yarn.

Rnd 4: join 2nd contrasting color (darker pink) or pink with a SL ST to any 2CH loop, CH1, work 4TR into loop, CH1. *Work 4TR into next loop, CH1. ** Repeat from * to ** 5 times more.

Cut yarn, leaving a tail for sewing flower onto Beanie.

Sew flower onto beanie and weave in ends.

Little Granny Square Blanky:

With variegated yarn and 3.50mm Hook – make a magic circle / or CH 6 and SL ST into first CH.

Rnd 1: CH3(counts as DC), work 2DC into ring CH2. *Work 3DC into ring, CH2. **
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 3CH.

Rnd 2: SL ST into next 2STS. SL ST into 2CH space, CH3, work 2DC into space, CH2, work 3DC into space, CH1. *Work [3DC, CH2, 3DC] into 2CH space, CH1. **
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 3CH.

Rnd 3: SL ST into next 2STS. SL ST into 2CH space, CH3, work 2DC into space, CH2, work 3DC into space, CH1. Work 3DC into 1CH space. *Work [3DC, CH2, 3DC] into 2CH space, CH1. Work 3DC into 1CH space. ** Repeat from * to ** 2 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 3CH.

Rnd 4-9: Continue following the pattern in rnd 3, working [3DC, 2CH, 3DC] into each corner and 3DC into each 1CH space.

On completion of round 9 CH 20 and SL ST into corner, cut yarn and weave in ends.

Edging:

With white yarn and 3.50mm Hook – Join yarn with a SL ST into any corner 2CH space.

CH3, work 1DC into next 1CH space, CH3, work 3DC over DC made in the 1CH space.
*Work 1DC into next 1CH space, CH3, work 3DC over DC made in the 1CH space. **
Repeat from * to ** into each 1CH space.

Corner Edging – Work 1DC into 2CH space, CH3, work 3DC over DC made in the 2CH space, work 1DC into same 2CH space, CH3 work 3DC over DC made in the 2CH space.

Continue working from * to ** into each 1CH space.

Working last Corner – Work 1DC into 2CH space, CH3, work 3DC over DC made in the 2CH space, work 1DC into same 2CH space, CH3 work 2DC over DC made, SL ST into top CH of starting 3CH.

Work a Pink Flower same as for beanie (Rnd 1-2) attach to corner.

Flower Hexagon Square: (Make 19)

Flower: (8 white flowers / 8 pink flowers)

With white yarn and 3.50mm Hook – make a magic circle / or CH 6 and SL ST into first CH.

Rnd1: CH1, work 12SC into ring, join with a SL ST into 1st SC.

Rnd 2: CH1, work 3DC into 1SC, *CH1, SL ST into next ST, CH1, work 3DC into next ST. ** Repeat from * to ** 5 more times to make 6 petals, join with a SL ST into back loop of CH1

Work next round at the back of flower to create 6 loops:

Rnd 3: *CH2, miss 1st petal, SL ST into back of next SL ST. ** Repeat from * to ** to end, join with a SL ST into 1st CH at beginning of round. Cut yarn.

With variegated yarn and 3.50mm Hook.

Hexagon:

Rnd 4: CH3 (counts as DC), 2DC into 1ST 2CH loop, *CH3, 3DC into next 2CH loop. **Repeat from * to ** to end, join with SL ST to top of 3CH.

Rnd 5: SL ST into next 2STS and 1ST 2CH space, CH3 (counts as DC), 1DC, CH2, 2DC into same space, CH1. *Work (2DC, CH2, 2DC) into next 2CH space, CH1. ** Repeat from * to ** to end, join with SL ST into CH3.

Rnd 6: SL ST into next ST and 1ST CH2 space, CH3 (counts as 1DC), 1DC, CH2, 2DC into same space, CH1, 3DC into next CH space, *work (2DC, CH2, 2DC) into next CH2 space, CH1, 3DC into next CH space. ** Repeat from * to ** to end, join with SL ST into CH3.

Rnd 7: SL ST into next ST and 1ST CH2 space, CH1, work 1SC, CH1, 1SC into space. Work 1SC into each ST and 1CH space, working 11SC, 1CH, 1SC into each corner.
Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Attach hexagons together with the Whipstitch method (Special Stitches)

– Starting with a single hexagon in the middle.

– Attach 6 around center hexagon.

– Attach 12 around the 6 hexagons.

Edging:

With white yarn and 3.50mm Hook – Join yarn with a SL ST into any corner 1CH space.

CH3, skip 3STS, work 1DC into next ST, CH3, work 3DC over DC made in ST.

*Skip 3STS, work 1DC into next ST, CH3, work 3DC over DC made in ST. **
Repeat from * to ** all around.

Exception:

Inner corners – DC4tog (Special Stitches) (work 2 uncompleted DC in first corner, work 2 uncompleted DC in next corner)

Working last Corner:

Work 1DC into 1CH space, CH3, work 2DC over DC made in the 1CH space, SL ST into top CH of starting 3CH

Dress:

With white yarn and 3.50mm Hook – CH 64

Row 7: CH3 (counts as DC), work 2DC into space between 1DC and next 3DC. *Work 3DC into each space between 3DC clusters of previous row until end, work 1DC into top of 3CH. (13 x 3DC clusters)

Continue working in the round:

Rnd 8: CH3 (counts as DC), work 2DC into space between 1DC and next 3DC. *Work 3DC into 2nd DC of next 3DC cluster, work 3DC into space between 3DC clusters. Repeat from * until end, working 3DC into space between last 3DC cluster and 1DC of previous row. SL ST into top 3CH and next 2DC. (26 x 3DC clusters)

Rnd 9: Work 3DC into next space between 3DC clusters. Work 3DC into each space between 3DC cluster of previous rnd until end. (26 x 3DC clusters)

Rnd 10-16: Repeat rnd 9. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Edging:

With white yarn and 3.50mm Hook – Join yarn with a SL ST into top of last 3CH

Rnd 17: CH3, work 1DC into next space between 3DC clusters, CH3, work 3DC over DC made in the space. *Work 1DC into next space between 3DC clusters, CH3, work 3DC over DC made in the space. ** Repeat from * to ** into each space between 3DC clusters.

Rnd 18: SL ST into top of 3CH, CH3, work 1DC into next space between edging clusters, CH3, work 3DC over DC made in the space. *Work 1DC into next space between edging clusters, CH3, work 3DC over DC made in the space. ** Repeat from * to ** into each space between edging clusters.

Rnd 19-20: Repeat rnd 18. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Attach the 2 x 14mm Press Studs at the top of the back of the dress.
