Abbreviations:  US Terminology

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS

• Square Four – Colours – Flower C4 – Green D Make 3; Green E Make 2

Blossom Square Four:

With A – make a magic circle / or CH 6 and SL ST into first CH.

RND 1: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); work 12 DC into ring; SL ST into first DC worked.
(12 DC) Fasten off and weave in ends.

With B – join into any DC.

RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 FPDC around SAME DC. *Work 1 DC into next DC; work 1 FPDC around SAME DC. ** Repeat from * to ** 10 more times; SL ST into 3^rd of 3 CH.
(12 DC; 12 FPDC = 24 STS) Fasten off and weave in ends.

With C4 – join into any FPDC.

RND 3: *CH 3; work 2DCtog in same FPDC; CH 3; SL ST into same FPDC; SKIP next ST; SL ST into next FPDC. ** Repeat from * to ** 11 more times; SL ST into first ST worked. (12 Petals)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With D/E – TURN flower around and work on the wrong side – join with a FPSC around any RND 2 ST post. (Note: Check the Square Tracker Formula)

RND 4: *CH 4; SKIP 2 ST posts; work FPSC around next ST post. ** Repeat from * to ** 7 more times; SL ST into first SC worked. (8 FPSC; 8 x 4 CH spaces)

TURN flower back to right side.

RND 5: SL ST into next 4 CH space; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2 DC; 2 CH; 3 DC] into same CH space; CH 1; work 4 HDC into next 4 CH space; CH 1.
*Work [3 DC; 2 CH; 3 DC] into same CH space; CH 1; work 4 HDC into next 4 CH space; CH 1. **
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3^rd of 3 CH.
(6 DC; 4 HDC; 2 x 1 CH spaces between 2 CH corner spaces)

RND 6: SL ST into each of next 2 DC; SL ST into corner space; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2 DC; 2 CH; 3 DC] into corner space; CH 1; work 3 DC into next 1 CH space; CH 1; work 3 DC into next 1 CH space; CH 1. *Work [3 DC; 2 CH; 3 DC] into corner space; CH 1; work 3 DC into next 1 CH space; CH 1; work 3 DC into next 1 CH space; CH 1. ** Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3^rd of 3 CH. (12 DC; 3 x 1 CH spaces on each side) Fasten off and weave in ends.
