Note: The next few rounds might frill slightly – it will flatten out once squaring progresses.
IF – depending on yarn and tension it frills A LOT – going down a hook size is recommended.

With B – join into ANY SC.

RND 22: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 HDC into next HDC; work 1 SC into each of next 4 DC; work 1 HDC into next HDC.
*Work 1 DC into next SC; work 1 HDC into next HDC; work 1 SC into each of next 4 DC; work 1 HDC into next HDC. ** Repeat from * to ** all around; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(273 STS)

Note: For the next round it is recommended to use stitch markers to help with the count.
Insert a stitch marker on each 40th DC – there will be 7 stitch markers in total.

RND 23: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into each of next 37 STS; work 2 DC into next ST (insert). *Work 1 DC into each of next 38 STS; work 2 DC into next ST (insert). **
Repeat from * to ** 5 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
