Note: for the next round to clarify it is a 5 HDC Popcorn (Special Stitches)

With G – join into any 2 CH corner space.

RND 59: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2 CH; 1 DC] into SAME space; work 1 DC into each of next 6 DC; (CH 2; work HDC Popcorn into center ST of next CABLE ST; CH 2; work 1 DC into each of next 2 DC) x 30 times; CH 2; work HDC Popcorn into center ST of next CABLE ST; CH 2; work 1 DC into each of next 6 DC.
*Work [1 DC; 2 CH; 1 DC] into next corner space; work 1 DC into each of next 6 DC; (CH 2; work HDC Popcorn into center ST of next CABLE ST; CH 2; work 1 DC into each of next 2 DC) x 30 times; CH 2; work HDC Popcorn into center ST of next CABLE ST; CH 2; work 1 DC into each of next 6 DC. ** Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(31 HDC Popcorns; 72 DC; 62 x 2 CH spaces on each side) Fasten off and weave in ends.

For the next round – work FPTR around the popcorn – it is worked exactly the SAME as a FPDC – but with a TR stitch.

How to work the FPDC around the Popcorn:

With D – join into any 2 CH corner space.

RND 60: CH 4 (counts as 1 TR); work 8 TR into same space; SKIP next 3 DC; work 1 SC into next DC; SKIP next 3 DC;
(work 4 TR into next 2 CH space; work FPTR around next Popcorn; work 4 TR into next 2 CH space; SKIP next 2 DC; SKIP next 2 CH space; work FPSC around next Popcorn; SKIP next 2 CH space; SKIP next 2 DC) x 15 times;
work 4 TR into next 2 CH space; work FPTR around next Popcorn;
work 4 TR into next 2 CH space; SKIP next 3 DC; work 1 SC into next DC; SKIP next 3 DC.
*Work 9 TR into next corner space; SKIP next 3 DC; work 1 SC into next DC; SKIP next 3 DC;

(CH 5; work 1 SC into next FPTR; CH 5; work 1 FPDC around next FPSC) x 15 times;
CH 5; work 1 SC into next FPTR; CH 5; work 1 FPDC around next SC; CH 5.
Repeat from * to ** 3 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
(17 FPDC; 16 SC; 34 x 5 CH spaces on each side)

Note: for the next round ALL stitches are SKIPPED and only the CH spaces of each 5 CH stitches are worked into.

RND 62: SL ST into corner space; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into SAME space; (work 1 DC into each of next 5 CH stitches) x 34 times.
