Pinwheel Crochet Dishcloth

This beautiful two-toned Pinwheel crochet dishcloth features a delicate pinwheel design that’s both decorative and practical.
It’s a quick and enjoyable project that’s perfect for using around the home or gifting to someone special.

Pinwheel Crochet Dishcloth

SKILL LEVEL:

Easy – concentration is required.
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.

You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.

MATERIALS:

• Hook – 4, 00 mm (G)
• Scissors
• Yarn needle

Yarn:
Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton – worsted-weight (9 wpi), mercerized 100% natural fiber yarn.

A – Mint
B – Aqua

Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests worsted weight (9 wpi) 4: medium), but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.

TENSION/GAUGE:

Gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.

SIZE:

Approx. Length and width = 9 ½ inches / 24 cm

Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your dishcloth will be a different size!

With A – make a magic ring/or CH 4; SL ST into 4^th CH from hook to form a ring.

RND 1: Work 8 SC into ring. (8 SC)

RND 2: Work 2 SC into each SC all around; SL ST into first SC worked. (16 SC)

RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 HDC into next SC; work 1 SC into next SC; work 1 HDC into next SC.
*Work 1 DC into next SC; work 1 HDC into next SC; work 1 SC into next SC; work 1 HDC into next SC.** Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3^rd of 3 CH.
(16 STS)

RND 4: Work 1 SC into same CH; work 1 HDC into next ST; work 1 DC into next ST; work 1 TR into next ST; CH 4.
*Work 1 SC into next ST; work 1 HDC into next ST; work 1 DC into next ST; work 1 TR into next ST; CH 4. ** Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
(16 STS; 4 x CH 4 spaces) Fasten off and weave in ends.

Note: For the following rounds work into the CH stitches NOT the CH space for each 4 CH corner space.

With B – join into FIRST CH of a 4 CH space with a SC.

RND 5: Work 1 SC into next CH ST; work 1 HDC into next CH ST; work 1 HDC into next CH ST;
work 1 DC into next ST; work 1 DC into next ST; work 1 TR into ST; work 1 TR into ST; CH 4.

With A – join into any 2 CH corner space.

RND 11: CH 5 (counts as 1 DC; 2 CH space); work 1 DC into SAME corner space;
work 1 DC into each of next 30 DC.
*Work [1 DC; 2 CH; 1 DC] into next 2 CH corner space; work 1 DC into each of next 30 DC. **
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3^rd of 5 CH.
(32 DC on each side; 4 x 2 CH corner spaces)

RND 12: SL ST into next corner space; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 2 DC into SAME corner space; work 1 DC into each of next 32 DC.
*Work 3 DC into next corner space; work 1 DC into each of next 32 DC. **
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3^rd of 3 CH

Optional:

RND 13: CH 10 (or length required); SL ST into each DC all around; ending with a SL ST into first SL ST worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
