
Scrapsantastic Crochet Throw Part Two – Free Crochet Along
The Scrapsantastic Crochet Throw Part two is part of a fun, unique blanket crochet along worked in a variety of stitches and squares. A puzzle constructed as you crochet.

Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS
With 3, 50 mm (E) hook
Note – this is exactly the same design as in part one – two more squares are required.
Little Square Design: – Make 2
Tip – when you are working the SL STS – slip stitch into the back-loop only.
Colors:
- Avocado
With A – make a magic circle (this is recommended, however if you do not know how or struggle with this method, CH 4; SL ST into 4 CH from hook to form a ring.)
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 2 DC; CH 2. *Work 3 DC into ring; CH 2. ** Repeat from * to ** two more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(12 DC; 4 x 2 CH corner spaces)
RND 2: SL ST into next 2 DC; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into 2 CH corner space; work 1 DC into each of next 3 DC. *Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next 2 CH corner space; work 1 DC into each of next 3 DC. ** Repeat from * to ** two more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(7 DC on each side = 28 DC; 4 x 2 CH corner spaces)
RND 3: SL ST into next DC; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into 2 CH corner space; work 1 DC into next DC; work 1 HDC into each of next 2 DC; work 1 SC into next DC; work 1 HDC into each of next 2 DC; work 1 DC into next DC.
*Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into 2 CH corner space; work 1 DC into next DC; work 1 HDC into each of next 2 DC; work 1 SC into next DC; work 1 HDC into each of next 2 DC; work 1 DC into next DC. ** Repeat from * to ** two more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(11 STS on each side = 66 STS; 4 x 2 CH corner spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Little Circle:
Section One – Make 7
Colors:
- Deep Purple (make 4)
- Peacock (make 3)
With A and 3, 50 mm (E) – make a magic circle (this is recommended, however if you do not know how or struggle with this method, CH 4; SL ST into 4 CH from hook to form a ring.)
RND 1: CH 2 (does NOT count as a stitch); work 12 DC into ring; SL ST into first DC worked.
(12 DC)
RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into SAME DC. Work 2 DC into each DC all around; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(24 DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

NOTE: FOR THE JOINING I USED ONE MAIN COLOR – THIS IS OPTIONAL – EVERY PIECE IS JOINED SEPARATELY GIVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO USE MULITPLE COLORS!

Joining The Hexagons – Section One:
First Hexagon
Colors:
- Grey
With color and 4, 00 mm (G) – join into ANY 2 CH corner space.
RND 1: *Work [1 SC; 2 CH; 1 SC] into corner space; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS; CH 3; SKIP next 3 STS; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS. **
Repeat from * to ** 5 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
(6 x 2 CH spaces; 6 x 3 CH spaces; 10 SC on each side = 60 SC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Second Hexagon
RND 1: *Work [1 SC; 2 CH; 1 SC] into corner space; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS; CH 3; SKIP next 3 STS; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS. **
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times.
Work [1 SC; 1 CH; SL ST into join Hexagon’s 2 CH corner; 1 SC] into corner space; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS; CH 1; SL ST into join Hexagon’s 3 CH space; CH 1; SKIP next 3 STS; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS; work [1 SC; SL ST into join Hexagon’s 2 CH corner; CH 1; 1 SC] into corner space; work 1 SC into next 4 STS; CH 3; SKIP next 3 STS; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS.
Repeat from * to ** one more time; SL ST into first SC worked.
(6 x 2 CH spaces; 6 x 3 CH spaces; 10 SC on each side = 60 SC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Repeat instructions for the second hexagon for the rest of the hexagons until all 8 hexagons are joined.

Joining The Little Squares:
First Square
Colors:
- Grey
With color and 4, 00 mm (G) – join into ANY 2 CH corner space.
RND 1: *Work [1 SC; 2 CH; 1 SC] into corner space; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS; CH 3; SKIP next 3 STS; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS. ** Repeat from * to ** two more times; work [1 SC; 1 CH; SL ST into join Hexagon’s 2 CH corner; 1 SC] into corner space; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS; CH 3; SKIP next 3 STS; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS; SL ST into first SC worked.
(4 x 2 CH spaces; 4 x 3 CH spaces; 10 SC on each side = 60 SC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Second Square
RND 1: *Work [1 SC; 2 CH; 1 SC] into corner space; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS; CH 3; SKIP next 3 STS; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS. ** Repeat from * to ** one more times; work [1 SC; 1 CH; SL ST into join Hexagon’s 2 CH corner; 1 SC] into corner space; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS; CH 3; SKIP next 3 STS; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS; work [1 SC; 1 CH; SL ST into Little Square’s 2 CH corner; 1 SC] into corner space; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS; CH 3; SKIP next 3 STS; work 1 SC into each of next 4 STS; SL ST into first SC worked.
(4 x 2 CH spaces; 4 x 3 CH spaces; 10 SC on each side = 60 SC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Repeat instructions for the second square for the rest of the squares until all 8 Little Squares are joined.

Joining The Little Circles:
Colors:
- Grey
With color and 4, 00 mm (G) – join into ANY DC.
RND 1: *Work 1 SC into next 6 SC; CH 1; SL ST into join Hexagon or Square’s 3 CH space. **
Repeat from * to ** 3 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
(24 SC; 4 x joins)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Repeat instructions for the all 7 circles.
