Orange Flower Cocktail Crochet Hat

Difficulty Level | Skills Required

Easy
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.

You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.

Materials

  • Hook – 5,00 mm (H)
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

Yarn:

Elle Alula Double Knit 200g / 600 m / 656 yards – 100 % acrylic.
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.

  • 1 x 601 Cardinal 200g ball (I used 1 ball for both the scarf and the hat)

For the flower appliques:

Vinnis Colours Serina 100% Bamboo – small amounts (10 g tots)

  • A – mustard 604
  • B – Camo Green 641
  • C – Crimson 673

Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK yarn (Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light Worsted), but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.

Tension | Gauge

Gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.

Size

These are approx. sizes – these can differ greatly to yarn used. Measuring as you crochet is recommended.
Hat featured is the Adult Large – and this fits me and my teenage daughter due to the yarn flexibility.

Large Size: Approx. Length = 14 inch / 35 cm Width = 8 inches / 18 cm

Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your hat will be a different size!

Helpful Tips | Hints

  • This hat is easily adjustable.
  • Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the process.
