This Interwoven Crochet Square is part of the 2016 Crochet A Block Crochet Along.

Difficulty Level/Skill Required: Easy – Intermediate

Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.
Includes more involved stitch combinations like the popcorn stitch.

You will need to know basic stitches like the DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and links to tutorials are provided.

Supplies/Materials:

• Yarn – Charity Double Knit Pullskein (100g / 255 yards / 233 meters)
  Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.
• Hook – 4.00 mm (G) – Clover
• Scissors
• Yarn needle

Abbreviations:  US Terminology

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

Row 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), *[FPDC around next DC, work 1 DC into next ST]. Repeat from * until end – changing to new color when working last DC into 3rd of 3 CH, TURN
Row 2 forms the pattern – repeat row 2 until each color (3 colors) has been worked 7 times
Fasten off and weave in ends

Border: with the 4th color – Join to first CH along the foundation edge; CH 1, work 1 SC into the CH, work 1 SC into each ST until end;
work 1 SC, 1 HDC, 1 SC into the corner;
work 27 STS evenly along row-end edge;
work 1 SC, 1 HDC, 1 SC into the corner;
work 1 SC into each ST along the top row;
work 1 SC, 1 HDC, 1 SC into the corner;
work 27 STS evenly along row-end edge;
work 1 SC and 1 HDC into the same ST as first SC worked.
Round 2: CH 1, work 1 SC into each SC all around and work 3 SC into each corner HDC.
Fasten off and weave in ends
