A fun, unique blanket worked in squares adorned with colorful bird and flower inspired appliques.

Difficulty Level | Skills Required

Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate

Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.

You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.

Slip Stitch sewing for appliques.

Materials

• Hook – 3, 50 mm (E) & (optional for tension) 4, 00 mm (G)
• Scissors
• Yarn needle

Yarn:

Vinnis Colours – DK Nikkim 100% cotton (50 grams/119 meters/130 yards)
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.

Approx. 800 grams / 1904 meters / 2080 yards (16 balls) main colors.
Plus approx. 36 g / 72 meters / 78 yards for oddments.

For this project I used an assortment of colors.

Colours:

·         Pink x 2 Balls ·         Avocado x 2 Ball ·         Princess Turquoise x 1 Ball ·         Natural x 3 Balls ·         Fern x 2 Balls ·         Raspberry x 2 Balls ·         Dark Purple x 2 Balls ·         Peacock x 2 Balls

·         Baby Yellow – 4 g ·         Pale Lilac – 2 g ·         Black – 4 g ·         Kingfisher – 2 g ·         Sunshine – 2 g ·         Lime – 8 g

Yarn Substitute:

Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK yarn (Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light Worsted), but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.

Tension | Gauge

Gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.
However COUNTING your stitches and equal sized squares will ensure a true success of this project!

Size

Final Blanket Size including border –
Approx. Length = 32 x 32 inches (81 x 81 cm)

Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your blanket will be a different size!
