Size: approx. 9 inches x 9 inches

I use US Crochet stitch terminology
Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet
INSTRUCTIONS:
NOTE: Pattern is worked over a multiple of 6 plus 2
CH 14
RND 1: Work 1 SC into the 2nd CH from hook;
*SKIP 2 CH; work [1 DC; 3 CH; 1 DC] into next CH. SKIP 2 CH;
work 1 SC into next CH.
Repeat from * until LAST 3 STS; SKIP 2; work 1 CH into last CH.
TURN
RND 2: CH 4 (counts as 1 DC and 1 CH); work 1 DC into SAME ST (the first SC) as 4 CH;
*work 1 SC into NEXT 3 CH space; work [1 DC; 3 CH; 1 DC] into NEXT SC.
Repeat from * until LAST SC; work [1 DC; 1 CH; 1 DC] into SC.
TURN
RND 3: CH 1; work 1 SC into 1 CH space; work [1 DC; 3 CH; 1 DC] into next SC;
*work 1 SC into NEXT 3 CH space; work [1 DC; 3 CH; 1 DC] into NEXT SC.
Repeat from until end; working 1 SC into 1 CH space.
TURN
Repeat RND 2 & RND 3 for pattern – until cozy fits around bottle/jar/container
Fasten off and sew short sides together.

Basic Instructions – can be adapted to any size.
Ch 4; SL ST into first ch to form a ring;
RND 1: work 12 DC into ring; SL ST into first DC;
RND 2: work 2 DC into each DC (24 DC); SL ST into first DC;
continue increasing rounds if lid is larger;
RND 3: working into back-loops only;
work 1 SC into each DC; SL ST into first SC;
RND 4: work 1 SC into each SC; SL ST into first SC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
