PART FOUR:
Sew 2 and give it a Handle
SKILL LEVEL:
Easy
Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
SIZE:
Size: Approx. 42 cm x 35 cm (Width x Length)
MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Small amounts of double knitting/light worsted yarn in various colors or
various colors in any yarn available
Don’t stress – the size will just differ if different types are used 🙂
Size 4.00 mm Hook
Yarn NeedleGAUGE:
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect as long as all the blocks are approx. the same size
INSTRUCTIONS:
Sew 2:



Give it a Handle:


Starting at a corner, join yarn with a SC – work 1 SC into every ST,
Note: when working into rows work 1 SC into the SC rows and 2 SC into the DC rows.
Rnd 2: join new color with a SL ST into first SC – work 1 SC into each ST
Rnd 3 – 5: repeat rnd 2
Rnd 6: join new color with a SL ST into first SC – CH 3 (counts as 1 DC) work 1 DC into each ST

Rnd 7: lay piece flat and mark the first stitch at the beginning of the small rectangle, count 30 stitches and mark the next stitch – use photo as guide. DO THIS FOR BOTH SIDES.
SL ST into top of 3 CH – CH 3 (counts as 1 DC) work 1 DC into each ST until marker, remove marker work 1 DC, then CH 30, skip the 30 stitches until the next marker, work 1 DC into the marker stitch, work 1 DC into each ST, until the next marker, remove marker work 1 DC, then CH 30, skip the 30 stitches until the next marker, work 1 DC into the marker stitch, work 1 DC into each ST,
Rnd 8: join new color with a SL ST into top of 3 CH – work 1 SC into each ST, until the 30 stitch chain, work 30 SC over the chain, working not to tightly to move the SC evenly over the chain, work 1 SC into next DC, continue working 1 SC into each ST
Rnd 9: join new color with a SL ST into first SC – work 1 SC into each ST
Rnd 10 – 12: repeat rnd 9. FO after last rnd and weave in ends.
