Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect – crocheting the same tension throughout will ensure squares are approx the same size.
INSTRUCTIONS
Make a magic circle with cream yarn
Rnd 1: CH3 into circle (counts as 1 DC), work 11 DC into circle, SL ST into top of 3rd CH of 3CH
(12 DC)
Rnd 2: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 2 DC into next ST. * Work 2 DC into each ST. Repeat from * until end of round, SL ST into top of 3rd CH of 3CH (24 DC),
Rnd 3: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next ST. * Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next ST. Repeat from * until end of round, SL ST into top of 3rd CH of 3CH (36 DC)
Rnd 4: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next 2 STS. * Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next 2 STS. Repeat from * until end of round, SL ST into top of 3rd CH of 3CH (48 DC)

Join pastel blue or pastel pink yarn into the loop behind the 3 TR STS of the second ear

Work 3 DC, 2 CH, 3 DC into next ST (second corner made),*SKIP 2 STS, work 3 HDC into next ST. Repeat from * 2 more times.

With black yarn
Make a magic ring
Rnd 1: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 11 DC into ring (12 DC), SL ST into top of 3 CH
Rnd 2: Work 1 SC into next ST, work 1 HDC and 1 DC into next ST, work 1 DC and 1 HDC into next ST, work 1 SC into next ST, SL ST into next ST.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing
Eyes:
With white/ cream yarn
Make a magic ring
Rnd 1: CH1, work 6 SC into ring
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC into next 3 STS only, SL ST into next.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing
Embroider black pupils onto eyes with blank yarn and yarn needle . Embroider a nose into the center of the circle, position black eye patches above nose and sew into place. Sew eyes on top of patches.
Note: when sewing eyes onto patch pull working tail to make the eye form a bubble as you work.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
