Building your Dinosaur – T-Rex

Place the two tail pieces together and whipstich.
Note: with the tails there is no wrong or right side – because the two pieces are made
exactly the same! When stitching a wrong ‘side’ and a right ‘side’ will be facing each other
Stuff tail lightly – DO NOT SEW BOTTOM OPENING CLOSED – this part will be used
to attach tail to body. Put to one side
Place the two head pieces together and whipstitch together
Stuff head and neck lightly – LEAVE AN OPENING SEE PHOTO. Put to one side

Whip stitch the two body pieces together as shown in the photos – you will be working with
the right sides facing towards you.
NOTE: DO NOT CUT YOUR BODY TAIL YARN THIS WILL BE USED TO ATTACH
TAIL AND HEAD 🙂
Use photos as guide to attach your dinosaur’s head:
When about 10 cm from end – stuff body lightly with some fiberfill/toy stuffing
Continue to sew body closed, Fasten off – DO NOT CUT YARN
TIP: Check below to see how I stuffed my dinosaur’s body – this is of course optional 🙂
I used a piece of cushion inner to put my stuffing in and then I placed this into my dinosaur 🙂
TIP: you can also add a bell or beans
Using the leftover Body tail attach your tail to the body – first along one side then along the other
Whip-stitch the fins evenly spaced onto the back of the dinosaur
Use approx 4-5 stitches to sew one fin, SKIP 4-5 stitches of the back, then sew on the next fin 🙂
The Legs:
I used some scrap-booking ribbon – I cut 4 x  10 cm strips then melted (burnt) the edges together with a flame – then with some thread I stitched each ‘leg’ into place on the bottom of the dinosaur’s body – then I added a button to the top of each leg
(this was for decorative as well as to hide the stitches)
I then glued some sticky eyes to the head – this was at the request of my daughter 🙂
This not so little guy measures approx – 26 cm in length from head to tail.
Assembling:
Carefully insert each key ring through a SC starting from the last page and
working towards the first page. Space each key ring about 1cm – 2cm apart.
Note: Another awesome way to assemble your book  if you have made a page for each section – insert a plastic sheet in-between pages then crochet them together then bind your pages.

Hi 🙂 You just sew (whipstitch) them evenly spaced onto the back of the T-Rex!

  2. Thanks for this lovely play book pattern. I was wondering how to attach the fins to the dinosaur, I don't seem to find the instructions anywhere.
