Instructions: 

Please note this part is worked on a new page!
The Clams:
Large: (make 4)
Bottom Half
Make a magic circle
ROW 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 5 DC into ring (6 DC), TURN
ROW 2: CH 1, work 1 SC into each DC (6 SC), TURN
ROW 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST. Work 2 DC into each SC until end (12 DC), TURN
ROW 4: CH 1, work 1 SC into each DC (12 DC), TURN
ROW 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next ST. *Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next ST. Repeat from until end (18 DC), TURN
ROW 6: CH 1, work 1 SC into each DC (18 DC), TURN
ROW 7: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next 2 STS. *Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next 2 STS. Repeat from until end (24 DC), TURN
ROW 8: CH 1, work 1 SC into each DC (24 SC), DO NOT TURN
continue down the side, SKIP 1 ST row;
[work 2 SC into next DC row, work 1 SC into next SC row] repeat until end of side (11 SC)
CH 1
continue up the other side
[work 2 SC into next DC row, work 1 SC into next SC row] repeat until end of side (11 SC), skip last ROW and SL ST into first SC of row 8
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing

Top Half
Rejoin yarn into the 1 CH space at the point of the bottom half
ROW 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 5 DC into 1 CH space (6 DC), TURN
ROW 2 – ROW 8: Repeat instructions for bottom half
continue down the side, SKIP 1 ST row;
[work 2 SC into next DC row, work 1 SC into next SC row] repeat until end of side (11 SC)
SL ST into 1 CH space
continue up the other side
[work 2 SC into next DC row, work 1 SC into next SC row] repeat until end of side (11 SC), skip last ROW and SL ST into first SC of row 8
SL ST into next 9 STS, CH 5, SKIP 4 STS, SL ST into last 10 STS
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Small: (make 5)

RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST. Work 2 DC into each DC all round, SL ST into 3rd of 3CH
RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next ST. *Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next ST. Repeat from * until end, SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH
RND 4: work into back-loops only – CH 4 (counts as 1 DC + 1 CH), SKIP next ST, work 1 DC into next ST, CH 1
[SKIP next ST, work 1 DC into next ST, CH 1] repeat all around, SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH
RND 5 – 8: CH 4 (counts as 1 DC + 1 CH), SKIP 1 CH space, work 1 DC into next DC, CH 1.
[SKIP 1 CH space, work 1 DC into next DC, CH 1] repeat all around, SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
RND 9: CH 1, work 1 SC into each DC and 1 CH space all around. SL ST into first SC, CH 10 (to create loop) SL ST into same st.

Building your page:
Using the tails of each applique, whip-stitch each piece into place!
The Clams:

Whip-stitch the clams 3 in row – use photos as guide

Only the bottom half is sewed on to the page 🙂

 

Optional – Glue/Sew or Embroider on some eyes

Sew the buttons onto the bottom half as shown in the photos.

 

This is a fun and interactive page –
Use to play “Memory Match” or “Hide & Seek”

 

Use the ‘Fishnet’ to store the playing pieces.

My playing pieces are store bought wooden buttons;
but you can use the crochet fishes from Part Two or
crochet little pearl balls for the “Hide & Seek” game 🙂
