Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I used a 4,00 mm hook with the variegated yarn and a 3,50 mm hook for the coral pink.

I use US Crochet stitch terminology

Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – treble crochet
TR2tog – crochet 2 treble stitches together
SL ST – slip stitch

INSTRUCTIONS:

Serving Mat:
Size: 35 cm in diameter worked with a 3.50 mm hook and double knitting/light worsted yarn (40 CM IN DIAMETER WORKED WITH A 4,00 MM HOOK)

With coral pink yarn and 3.50 mm hook: CH4
This part is worked in the round

Rnd 1: Work 11 DC in 4th CH from hook. (12 DC) – first 3CH counts as DC. SL ST in 3rd of 3CH
Rnd 2: 3CH (counts as DC), work 1DC in same ST, *work 2 DC in next ST. Repeat from * until end, SL ST in 3rd of 3CH (24 DC)
Rnd 3: 3CH (counts as DC), work 2DC in next ST. *Work 1DC in next ST, work 2DC in next ST. Repeat from * until end, SL ST in 3rd of 3CH (36 DC)
