Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS:
Asteroid:
With double knitting / light worsted (No 3) yarn and 3, 50 mm hook;
CH 31
ROW 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 1 SC into each CH until end (30 SC); TURN
ROW 2-30: CH 1, work 1 SC into each ST until end (30 SC); TURN
Border Round:
Working randomly all around – work random STS of SC, HDC and DC;
exp – work 1 SC into next 3 STS, work 1 DC into next 2 STS, work 1 HDC into next 1 ST.
working 3 STS into each corner.
CH1, work 1 SC into each ST all around, working 3 SC into the corners.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing board onto page.
Surface SL ST or embroider/sew two rows horizontally and two rows vertically
as shown in photo.
Rockets:
With double knitting / light worsted (No 3) yarn and 3, 50 mm hook;
Body:
CH 9
ROW 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 1 SC into each CH until end (8 SC); TURN
ROW 2-8: CH 1, work 1 SC into each ST until end (8 SC);l TURN
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join new color to last row and work 1 row in SC; SL ST all around block.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Top:
CH 4
ROW 1: Work 5 DC into 4th CH from hook (6 DC); TURN
ROW 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST; work 2 DC into each ST until end (12 DC);
continue to work along the bottom – work 2 SC into each row (8 SC).
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing
Sew top to the body.
Wings: (make 2 for each rocket)
CH 7
Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook;
work 1 HDC into next 2 STS;
work 1 DC into next 2 STS;
work 1 TR into last ST.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Sew wings onto the side of the rocket.
Alien Spaceships:
With double knitting / light worsted (No 3) yarn and 3, 50 mm hook;
Body:
CH 13
ROW 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook; work 1 SC into each CH until end (12 SC); TURN
ROW 2: SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 8 STS, SC2tog; TURN
ROW 3: SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 6 STS, SC2tog; TURN
ROW 4: SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 4 STS, SC2tog; TURN
SL ST all around body.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Top:
CH 4
ROW 1: Work 5 DC into 4th CH from hook (6 DC); TURN
ROW 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST; work 2 DC into each ST until end (12 DC);
continue to work along the bottom – work 2 SC into each row (8 SC).
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing
Sew top to the body.
Sew/glue various buttons onto rockets and alien spaceships
Sew Asteroid onto page.
Add a few stars all around – find pattern here!
