SKILL LEVEL:

Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.

MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Any leftover; scraps of yarn (I used Elle Family Knit)
Small amounts approx 20 – 50 yards
Hooks & Notions:
Hook 3, 25 mm
Yarn needle
Small amounts for fiberfill/toy stuffing

Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – treble crochet
SC2tog – single crochet 2 sts together

Notes:
I use US Crochet stitch terminology.
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

CHOCOLATE DIPPED STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE:

Make a magic ring;
this part is worked in continuous rounds – you might want to use a stitch marker to help keep track of the round.

Biscuit: (light brown)

RND 1: CH 1; work 6 SC into ring;

RND 2: Work 2 SC into each SC of previous round (12 SC);

RND 3: *Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (18 SC);

RND 4: *Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 2 SC. Repeat from * all around (24 SC);

RND 5: *Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 3 SC. Repeat from * all around (30 SC);

RND 6: Work into back loops only for this round; work 1 SC into each SC of previous round (30 SC);

RND 7: Work 1 SC into each SC of previous round; change color to cream (30 SC);

Cheesecake: (cream)

RND 8-12: Work 1 SC into each SC of previous round (30 SC);

RND 13: Work into back loops only for this round; work 1 SC into each SC of previous round (30 SC);

RND 14: *SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 3 SC. Repeat from * all around (24 SC);

RND 15; *SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 2 SC. Repeat from * all around (18 SC);

Stuff with some fiberfill to form shape

RND 16: *SC2tog; work 1 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (12 SC);

RND 17: SC2tog all around. Fasten off and sew opening closed. Weave in all ends.

Icing: (dark chocolate)

Make a make ring;

RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 11 DC into ring (12 DC); SL ST into top of 3rd CH of 3 CH;

NOTE: each round is worked into back-loops only

RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same ST; work 2 DC into each DC of previous round (24 DC); SL ST into 3rd CH of 3 CH

RND 3: CH 1; work 2 SC into same ST; work 1 SC into next DC.
*Work 2 SC into next DC; work 1 SC into next DC. Repeat from * all around (36 SC).

NOTE: Round 4 is completely worked in random stitching – this is called  free-form.
You can follow the direct instructions below or add/decrease to your own liking.

RND 4: Work [2 HDC; 2 DC; 1 HDC] over next 3 STS;
work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 HDC; 2 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] over next 6 STS;
SL ST into next 2 STS;
work [2 HDC; 2 C; 1 HDC; 2 SC] over next 4 STS;
work [2 HDC; 2 DC; 1 HDC] over next 3 STS;
SL ST into next 2 STS;
work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 HDC; 2 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] over next 6 STS;
Work [2 HDC; 2 DC; 1 HDC] over next 3 STS;
SL ST into next 2 STS;
work [2 HDC; 2 C; 1 HDC; 2 SC] over next 4 STS;
SL ST into last ST.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew icing onto the top of the cheesecake part.

Attach yarn to first exposed loop in the center of the icing;
work 2/3/4 SC into each loop and outer edge.

Strawberry: (pink)

Make a magic ring;

RND 1:Work 5 SC into ring; continue working in continuous rounds.

RND 2: Work 1 SC into each SC (10 SC);

RND 3-8: Work 1 SC into each SC (10 SC;

Stuff with some fiberfill/toy stuffing

RND 9: SC2tog x 5. Fasten off and sew opening closed. Leave a tail for sewing.

Leaf: (mint/green)

CH 7
Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook; work 1 HDC into next 2 CH; work 1 DC into next 2 CH; work 4 DC into last CH – continue working in the round (opposite side of first 5 STS);
work 1 DC into next 2 CH; work 1 HDC into next 2 CH; work 1 SC into last CH.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Sew leaf onto the bottom part of the strawberry.

Sew strawberry & leaf onto the top of the dark chocolate icing – positioned in the center.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.

CHOCOLATE CHERRY TRUFFLE:

Make a magic ring;
this part is worked in continuous rounds – you might want to use a stitch marker to help keep track of the round.

Cherry Top: (pink)

RND 1: CH 1; work 6 SC into ring;

RND 2: Work 2 SC into each SC of previous round (12 SC);

RND 3: *Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (18 SC);

RND 4: *Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 2 SC. Repeat from * all around (24 SC);

RND 5: Work into back loops only for this round; work 1 SC into each SC of previous round (24 SC);

RND 6-8: Work 1 SC into each SC of previous round; (24 SC); changing to dark chocolate on the last SC of the last round;

Chocolate Bottom: (dark chocolate)

RND 9-10: Work 1 SC into each SC of previous round; (24 SC);

RND 11: Work into back loops only for this round; work 1 SC into each SC of previous round (24 SC);

RND 12; *SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 2 SC. Repeat from * all around (18 SC);

Stuff with some fiberfill to form shape

RND 13: *SC2tog; work 1 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (12 SC);

RND 14: SC2tog all around. Fasten off and sew opening closed. Weave in all ends.

Decorate top of truffle with some french knots (sprinkles).

 

PEPPERMINT CRISP HEART:

Make 3: (2 x brown – biscuit; 1 x mint – peppermint center)

Make a magic ring;

RND 1: CH 2; work 15 DC into ring;

RND 2: CH 2; work 1 DC into same ST;
work 4 TR into next ST;
work 2 DC into next ST;
work 1 HDC into next 4 STS;

forming the point:
work [1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC] into next ST;

work 1 HDC into next 4 STS;
work 2 DC into next ST;
work 4 TR into next ST;
work [1 DC; 2 CH] into next ST;
SL ST into last ST.

Fasten off and weave in ends – leave a tail on one of the biscuits to sew the 3 hearts together.
Note: when sewing the hearts together – work true the inside and NOT the outside STS..
