SKILL LEVEL:
Easy
Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Approx 100 grams of light weight worsted yarn- one color for border.
Note: colors are only a suggestion – any color can be used!
Hooks & Notions:
Hook 4,50 mm
Yarn needle
Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – treble crochet
SC2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together
Notes:
I use US Crochet stitch terminology.
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.
GAUGE:
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect.
WHAT YOU WILL CROCHET:
Border – Optional if doing the play-mat/blanket
INSTRUCTIONS:
For the Play-mat or Blanket:
Around each square (page) I did a single crochet round – working 2 SC into each ‘corner’.
Then I single crocheted them to together – 3 squares for each ‘row’
The Border:
RND 1: 1 DC into each SC all around – working 2 DC into each ‘join’ and [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into each corner.
RND 2: *CH 3; work 2 DC into same ST; SKIP 2 STS; SL ST into next ST. Repeat from * all around; working [CH 3; 1 DC; 2 CH; 1 DC; 3 CH; SL ST] into each corner.
I think if you sew 4 squares into one big block x 3 (12 squares) = this will give 3 pages of 4 squares each.

I have been a crochet designer for more than 10 years. I love to think outside the box and to try and do things a bit differently. I love to learn new techniques and to challenge myself. I firmly believe that crochet should fun and evoke joy and pleasure. Creating and designing is one of my life's passions.
