Abbreviations:

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)

PART THREE:

CREATING THE SIDES:

This is done for two sides of the square only – opposite sides!

Change color – join into CENTER SC of 3 SC corner group.
These instructions are worked over 49 STS of ONE side of the square.
NOTE: CH 4 at the start of each row counts as 1 DC and 1 CH space.

ROW 1: CH 4; SKIP next ST; *work 1 DC into NEXT ST; CH 1; SKIP next ST.
Repeat from * until end (last ST is worked into CENTER SC of 3 SC corner group; TURN
ROW 2-21: CH 4; *SKIP next 1 CH space; work 1 DC into next DC. Repeat from * until end working last DC into 3^rd CH of 3 CH; TURN
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Color Sequence:

Original:

6 Rows Natural;
1 Row Pink;
2 Rows Turquoise;
3 Rows Apple;
4 Rows Denim;
5 Rows Burnt Fudge

= 21 Rows

Tutorial:

3 Rows light yellow;
4 Rows dark yellow;
6 Rows light pink;
8 Rows dark pink

= 21 Rows
