The Scrapsadelic Groovy Crochet Blanket Part Six is part of a fun, unique bag worked in a variety of stitches and squares.

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)

INSTRUCTIONS:
PART SIX:
Groovy Diamonds Square: Make 2
NOTE: I worked into the back-loops for each round with the exception of RND 4 – this is optional – but does give a nice look to the design.
With yarn – make a magic ring/ or CH 6 and SL ST to form a ring;
RND 1: CH 4 (this counts as 1 TR); work 4 DC into ring;
(work 1 TR into ring; work 4 DC into ring) 3 times.
SL ST into 4th CH of 4 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join yarn into ANY TR
RND 2: work 1 SC into TR; SKIP next DC; work [2 DC; 1 TR] into next DC; CH 1;
work [1 TR; 2 DC] into next DC; SKIP next DC.
*Work 1 SC into next TR; SKIP next DC; work [2 DC; 1 TR] into next DC; CH 1;
work [1 TR; 2 DC] into next DC; SKIP next DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join yarn into ANY SC
RND 3: CH 4 (counts as 1 TR); work [3 TR; 1 CH; 4 TR] into SAME SC;
work 1 SC into next 1 CH space.
*Work [4 TR; 1 CH; 4 TR] into next SC; work 1 SC into next 1 CH space.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 4th CH of 4 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join yarn into ANY 1 CH corner space
RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; 1 CH; 2 DC] into same space;
work 1 BPDC around next 4 DC; work 1 FPDC around next SC;
work 1 BPDC around next 4 DC.
*Work [2 DC; 1 CH; 2 DC] into same space;
work 1 BPDC around next 4 DC; work 1 FPDC around next SC;
work 1 BPDC around next 4 DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(13 STS on each side)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join yarn into ANY 1 CH corner space
RND 5: Work [1 SC; 1 CH; 1 SC] into same space;
work 1 SC into next 13 STS.
*Work [1 SC; 1 CH; 1 SC] into next 1 CH corner space;
work 1 SC into next 13 STS.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
(15 STS on each side)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join yarn into ANY 1 CH corner space
RND 6: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into same space;
work 1 DC into each SC until next corner 1 CH space.

RND 8: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; 1 CH; 2 DC] into same space;

Flower Power Square: Make 2

RND 1: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); work 12 DC into ring; SL ST into first DC;
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join yarn into ANY DC
Cluster: 3DCtog
The FIRST cluster will be worked this way:
[CH 3 (this counts as 1 DC); work 2DCtog] into join DC
The NEXT 11 clusters:
- Yarn over hook, insert hook in DC, pull up a loop, 3 loops on hook.
- Yarn over hook, pull through 2 loops. Yarn over hook insert into SAME DC, pull up a loop, 4 loops on hook.
- Yarn over, pull through 2 loops, 3 loops on hook. Yarn over, insert hook into SAME DC.
- Yarn over, pull up a loop, 5 loops on hook. Yarn over, draw through 2 loops, 4 loops left on hook.
- Yarn over draw through all 4 loops left on hook
RND 2: Work Cluster; CH 1 into each DC all around; SL ST into top of first Cluster.
(12 x Clusters; 12 x 1 CH spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join yarn into ANY 1 CH space
RND 3: Work 1 SC into 1 CH space; CH 3.
*Work 1 SC into next 1 CH space; CH 3.**
Repeat from * to ** 10 more times. SL ST into first SC worked.
(12 SC; 12 x 3 CH spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join yarn into ANY 3 CH space
RND 4: CH 3; work [2 DC; CH 3; SL ST] into SAME 3 CH space; CH 1.
*SL ST into next 3 CH space; CH 3; work [2 DC; CH 3; SL ST] into SAME 3 CH space; CH 1.**
Repeat from * to ** 10 more times. SL ST into 1st CH of first 3 CH worked.

Join yarn with an SC around ANY SC of RND 3
RND 5: *CH 3: work 1 SC around next SC of RND 3.**
Repeat from * to ** 10 more times; SL ST into 1st SC worked.
RND 6: work into back-loops only – SL ST into next 3 CH space; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2 DC; 3 CH; 3 DC] into same 3 CH space; (work 3 DC into next 3 CH space) x 2.
*Work [3 DC; 3 CH; 3 DC] into next 3 CH space; (work 3 DC into next 3 CH space) x 2.**

(24 DC on each side)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
NOTE: Groovy Diamond Square ends with 25 DC on each side and Flower Power Square ends with 24 DC on each side – this is correct!!
When all 4 squares are next to each other in a strip – the DC count should be 98!
