Vinnis Colours – Nikkim 100% cotton yarn
Cotton/DK – or any yarn! Completely your choice!!
Leftover can be used too!
My yarn colors:
Ruby Grapefruit – 50 g
Sage – 50 g
Hooks & Notions:
Hook 4.00 mm (G)
Yarn needle
Notes:
I use US Crochet stitch terminology.
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.
Size:
- Doily without stars – approx 20 cm (8 inches)
- Star – approx
- 7 cm (3 inches)
- Doily with star – approx 27 cm (11 inches)
Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop

INSTRUCTIONS:
CH 8 and SL ST to form a ring OR make a magic circle
Special Stitch: Starting Cluster – CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 2DCtog (2 double crochet stitches) into same space
Special Stitch: Cluster – 3DCtog – work 3 double crochet stitches together into space
Picot: CH 3; SL ST into 3rd CH from hook
RND 1: CH 2 (does not count as ST); work 12 DC into ring.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
RND 2: work Starting Cluster; CH 2; work [Cluster; CH 2] x 11; SL ST into top of Starting Cluster.
(12 Clusters; 12 x CH 2 spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
RND 3: join into any 2 CH space with SC; CH 3;
(work 1 SC into next 2 CH space; CH 3) x 11; SL ST into first SC worked.
RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); *work [1 DC; CH 2; 1 DC] into next 3 CH space; work 1 DC into next SC.**
Repeat from * to ** 10 times more; work [1 DC; CH 2; 1 DC] into next 3 CH space; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
join yarn into any DC work into a SC;
RND 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); CH 2; SKIP next DC; work Cluster into next 2 CH space; CH 2 ; SKIP next DC.
*Work 1 DC into next DC; SKIP next DC; work Cluster into next 2 CH space; CH 2 ; SKIP next DC.**

Depending on the round – you can add a CH to the CH spaces – if the round requires CH 2 – you would CH 3.
OR you could go a hook size up 🙂
What about those of us who crochet tight and it starts looking like a bowl?
