Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
Concentration required.
Yarn: Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3 : Light – I used cotton yarn – check the main introduction page!
Hook: 4,00 mm (G)
Size: 23 cm x 23 cm (approx. 9 inches)

Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I use US Crochet stitch terminology
Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – treble crochet
BLP – back loop

SPECIAL STITCHES:
3DCtog – 3 double crochet together – into same space or stitch.
Colors:
- Amazon – color A
- Natural – color B
- Butternut – color C
- Teal – color D

INSTRUCTIONS:
With Color B
CH 8; SL ST into first CH to form a ring
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 15 DC into ring (16 DC);
RND 2: *SL ST in-between next 2 DC; CH 3; SKIP next 2 DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 7 more times; SL ST into 1st CH of first 3 CH loop.
(8 x 3 CH loops)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With color C; join into any 3 CH loop
RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 4 DC into 3 CH space; SKIP next 3 CH loop; CH 3.
*Work 5 DC into next 3 CH loop; SKIP next 3 CH loop; CH 3.**
Repeat from *to** 2 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With color E; join into any FIRST DC of a 5 DC group
RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next DC; work 3DCtog into next DC; work 1 DC into next 2 DC; CH 2; work 1 DC into SKIPPED loop of RND 2; CH 2.
*Work 1 DC into next 2 DC; work 3DCtog into next DC; work 1 DC into next 2 DC; CH 2; work 1 DC into SKIPPED loop of RND 2; CH 2.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With color C; join into the DC worked FIRST into a 5 DC group – see photo
RND 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next DC; CH 2; work FPDC around the 3DCtog Cluster; CH 2; work 1 DC into next 2 DC; CH 3; work FPDC around next DC; CH 3.
*Work 1 DC into next 2 DC; CH 2; work FPDC around the 3DCtog Cluster; CH 2; work 1 DC into next 2 DC; CH 3; work FPDC around next DC; CH 3.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With color B; join into any FPDC around a 3DCtog Cluster
RND 6: CH 4 (counts as 1 TR); work [2 TR; CH 2; 3 TR] into same FPDC; CH 3; SKIP next 2 CH and DC; work 1 DC into next DC; CH 3; work 1 DC into next FPDC; CH 3; work 1 DC into next DC; CH 3; SKIP next DC and 2 CH.
