Cute Crochet Bunny Bookmark – Free Crochet Pattern

Supplies/Materials:

  • Yarn – Vinnis Colours Nikkim (cotton yarn) – approx 26/30 yards (24/28 meters); Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3 : Light.
  • Hook – 3, 50 mm (E) – I used Clover
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop

Gauge:
With yarn listed and 3, 50 mm (E) hook final washcloth should measure 2 ½ inches in width and 7 inches in length (6 x 18 cm). However gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect

Finished Size:
Bookmark (without ears) – 2 ½ inches in width and 7 inches in length (6 x 18 cm).

Pattern Notes:
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.

Instructions:

Bookmark:
With color.

CH 11

ROW 1: work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook; work 1 SC into each CH until end (10 SC); TURN.

ROW 35: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC until end (10 SC); TURN.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Ears: make 2

With color – CH 13

Work 1 SC into 2nd CH form hook, work 1 SC into next 2 CH, work 1 HDC into next 3 CH, work 1 DC into next 3 CH, work 1 TR into next 2 CH, work 6 TR into last CH – continue working along the other side – work 1 TR into next 2 CH, work 1 DC into next 3 CH, work 1 HDC into next 3 CH, work 1 SC into next 3 CH.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Eyes: make 2

With Natural – make a magic ring;

RND 1: work 6 SC into ring; SL ST into first SC
RND 2: CH 1; work 2 SC into each SC all around (12 SC); SL ST into first SC.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

With a little bit of black yarn embroider (sew) pupils onto each eyes.
Idea: Use buttons for eyes or stick on eyes!

Sew eyes and ears into position – there is no right way – place them where you would like them!
Use my photo as a guide!

With yarn embroider or sew a nose!
