Scrapstasy Bohemian Crochet Blanket Section 8 – Free Crochet Pattern

Supplies/Materials:

  • Yarn – Vinnis Colours Nikkim (cotton yarn) – approx amounts of colours used listed in Pattern; Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.
  • Hook – 3, 50 mm (E) – I used Clover
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)

Special Stitches will be give with each section when required.

Gauge:
However gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.
However COUNTING your stitches will ensure a true success of this project!

Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your square will be a different size!

Finished Size:
Square – approx 33 1/5 inches (85 cm)

Pattern Notes:
Remember you can use any colors you like! This is also a super project for using leftover yarns!

Instructions:

Section 8:

My Colors:

  • Lilac – approx 20 g / 52 yards
  • Raspberry – approx 20 g / 52 yards
  • Pink – approx 30 g / 78 yards
  • Ballet Pink – approx 30 g / 78 yards

Layout your square with your Spiked Bloom squares on top.

With yarn – join into 3rd DC of the corner – (you will skip the first 2 DC; skip the 1 CH space) – see photo

RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next 19 STS; *SKIP corner space; SKIP join; SKIP next corner space;
work 1 DC into next 20 STS.**
Repeat from * to ** 3 more times; SKIP next corner space; work up 20 DC over the next 15 HDC rows;
CH 3 – first corner;
work 1 DC into next 120 HDC;
CH 3 – 2nd corner;
work up 20 DC over the next 15 HDC rows; work 1 DC into next 100 SC; SKIP center SC of 3 SC corner;
CH 3 – 3rd corner;
work 1 DC into next 100 SC; SKIP center SC of 3 SC corner; SKIP join; SKIP next 1 CH space;
work 1 DC into next 20 STS;
CH 3 – 4th corner; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(120 DC on each side)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With yarn – join into any 3 CH corner space;

RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into corner space; work 1 DC into next 120 DC;
*work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into next 3 CH corner space; work 1 DC into next 120 DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd CH of 3 CH,
(124 DC on each side)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With yarn – join into any 2 CH corner space;

RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into corner space; work 1 DC into next 124 DC;
*work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into next 3 CH corner space; work 1 DC into next 124 DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd CH of 3 CH,
(128 DC on each side)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With yarn – join into any 2 CH corner space;

RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into corner space; work 1 DC into next 128 DC;
*work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into next 3 CH corner space; work 1 DC into next 128 DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd CH of 3 CH,
(132 DC on each side)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With yarn – make a magic ring

RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 17 DC into ring; SL ST into 3rd CH of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With yarn – join into any DC with a SL ST

RND 2: CH 3; work 2 DC into next DC; CH 3; SL ST into next DC.
*SL ST into next DC; CH 3; work 2 DC into next DC; CH 3; SL ST into next DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 4 more times.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
