Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

Instructions:
Section 6:
The colors I used:
Large Strip Continued:
Yarn usage:
approx 20-25 grams for each color.
NOTE: you will start each new color on the RIGHTSIDE (RS)
With 2nd color – join into first ST of previous row.
RS ROW 5: Work 1 SC into first ST; work 1 SC into next CH space; work 1 SC into top of next Cluster.
*Work 2 SC into next CH space; work 1 SC into top of next Cluster.**
Repeat from * to ** last CH space; work 1 SC into CH space; work 1 SC into last ST; TURN.
(185 SC)
ROW 6: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); SKIP next SC; work 3 DC into next SC.
*SKIP next 2 SC; work 3 DC into next SC.**
Repeat from * to ** last 2 SC; SKIP next SC; work 1 DC into last SC; TURN.
(61 x 3DC groups; 2 DC)
ROW 7: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); SKIP next DC; work 3 DC into next DC.
*SKIP next 2 DC; work 3 DC into next DC.**
Repeat from * to ** last 2 DC; SKIP next DC; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN.
(61 x 3DC groups; 2 DC)
ROW 8: Repeat Row 7.
ROW 9: CH 1; work 1 SC into each DC until end. (185 SC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With 3rd color – join into first ST of previous row.
Special Stitch:
Cross Over Stitch (COS)
SKIP next ST; work 1 DC into next 2 STS; work long DC into SKIPPED previous ST.
Tip: how to work a long DC; insert hook into stitch; pull yarn to match other DC worked; continue work DC stitch.
RS ROW 10: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); SKIP next SC; work COS.
*SKIP next SC; work COS.**
Repeat from * to ** last 2 SC; SKIP next SC; work 1 DC into last ST; TURN.
(61 x COS; 2 DC)
ROW 11: CH 1; work 1 SC into each DC until end; TURN. (185 SC)
ROW 12: Repeat Row 10.
ROW 13: Repeat Row 11.
ROW 14: Repeat Row 10.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With 4th color – join into first ST of previous row.
Special Stitch:
V-Stitch (V-ST)
work [1 DC; CH 1; 1 DC] into same ST.
RS ROW 15: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); SKIP next DC; work V-ST.
*SKIP next 2 DC; work V-ST.**
Repeat from * to ** until last 2 DC; SKIP next DC; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN.
(61 x V-ST; 2 DC)
ROW 16: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC): [work V-ST into next 1 CH space] x 61 times; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN.
ROW 17 & 18: Repeat Row 16.
ROW 19: CH 1; work 1 SC into each DC and CH space. (185 SC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With 5th color – join into first ST of previous row.
Special Stitch:
4DCtog
Work 4 double crochet stitches together into same stitch.
RS ROW 20: CH 4 (counts as 1 DC & 1 CH space); SKIP next SC; work 4DCtog into next SC.
*CH2; SKIP next 2 SC; work 4DCtog into next SC.** Repeat from * to ** until last 2 SC; CH 1; SKIP next SC; work 1 DC into last SC; TURN. (61 x 4DCtog; 2 DC)
ROW 21: CH 4 (counts as 1 DC & 1 CH space); work 4DCtog into top of next 4DCtog. *CH 2; work 4DCtog into top of next 4DCtog.** Repeat from * to ** until end, CH 1; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN.
ROW 22: Repeat Row 21.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
At the end of this section you should have one large strip.
