Approx. 12 x 12 inches (30 x 30 cm)
Instructions:
With 4, 00 mm (G) hook and color – 04 (Natural) – CH 49
ROW 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook; work 1 SC into each CH until end (48 SC). TURN.
The Griddle Stitch.
ROW 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 SC into next SC. *Work 1 DC into next SC; work 1 SC into next SC. **
Repeat from * to ** until end of row. TURN.
(24 DC; 24 SC = 48 STS)
ROW 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 SC into next DC. *Work 1 DC into next SC; work 1 SC into next DC. **
Repeat from * to ** until end of row. TURN.

ROW 4-6: Repeat ROW 3.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
With color – 51 (Light Green)
ROW 7: CH 1; work 1 SC into each ST across (48 SC). TURN.
The Pike Stitch.
How to make an Extended Single Crochet Stitch (EXSC):
- Insert hook into Stitch/or CH space.
- Yarn over and pull loop through.
- Yarn over and pull through FIRST loop only.
- Yarn over and pull through BOTH loops.
ROW 8: CH 1; work 1 SC into first SC; *CH 1; SKIP next SC; work 1 EXSC into next SC.**
Repeat from * to ** until end of row; work 1 SC into last SC. TURN.
(24 x 1 CH spaces; 24 x EXSC; 2 x SC = 48 STS)
ROW 9: CH 1; work 1 SC into first SC; CH 1; SKIP next 1 CH space; work 1 EXSC into next EXSC.**
Repeat from * to ** until end of row; work 1 SC into last SC. TURN.
(24 x 1 CH spaces; 24 x EXSC; 2 x SC = 48 STS)
ROW 10-11: Repeat ROW 9.
ROW 12: CH 1; work 1 SC into each ST across until end (48 SC). TURN.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

HDC Cross Stitch
For the crossed half double crochet stitch, you work two half double crochet stitches on an angle. When you make a crossed half double crochet stitch, you end up with a pattern that looks like an X.
- Work 1 half double crochet stitch into the next stitch.
- Work 1 half double crochet stitch into the SKIPPED stitch.
ROW 13: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC); *work HDC Cross Stitch over next 2 SC. ** Repeat from * to ** 22 times; work 1 HDC into last SC. TURN

ROW 14: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC); *work HDC Cross Stitch over next 2 HDC. ** Repeat from * to ** 22 times; work 1 HDC into last HDC. TURN

ROW 15-18: Repeat ROW 14.
ROW 19: CH 1; work 1 SC into each ST across until end (48 SC). TURN.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With color – 33 (Purple)
ROW 20: CH 1; work 1 SC into each ST across until end (48 SC). TURN.
The Woven Stitch.
NOTE: From row 22 – last SC of each row is worked in-between first SC and first CH of previous row.
ROW 21: CH 1; SKIP first SC; work 1 SC into next SC. *CH 1; SKIP next SC ; work 1 SC into next SC. **
Repeat from * to ** until end of row. TURN.

ROW 22: CH 1; SKIP first SC. *Work 1 SC into next 1 CH space; CH 1; SKIP next SC. ** Repeat from * to ** until end of row; work 1 SC into 1 CH space. TURN.

With 4, 5o mm hook and color – 51 (Light Green)
Join into FIRST SC of last ROW (45) worked.

CH 3 for first corner – continue working down the side of the blanket as follows:

- work 5 SC evenly along section 6;
- work 10 SC evenly along section 5;
- work 15 SC evenly along section 4;

CH 3 for next corner; work 1 SC into each CH across until end of bottom row (48 SC);
CH 3 for next corner; repeat side instructions starting at section 1; (48 SC)

Join color – 37 (Light Blue) into any 3 CH corner space.
RND 2: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC); work [1 HDC; 2 CH; 2 HDC] into same corner space;
*work 1 HDC into each of next 48 SC; work [2 HDC; 2 CH; 2 HDC] into next 3 CH corner space.**

Fasten off and weave in ends.
With Color – 61 (Grey) – join into any 3 CH corner space.
RND 4: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC); work 4 HDC into SAME corner space; work 1 HDC into each HDC across until next corner space.
*Work 5 HDC into next corner space; work 1 HDC into each HDC across until next corner space. **
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 2nd of 2 CH.
(54 HDC on each side; 5 HDC into each corner)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Optional – Doll Head.
With 4, 00 mm (G) hook and color – 04 (Natural) – make a magic circle /or CH 4; SL ST into 4th CH from hook to form a ring.
Note: Use a Stitch Marker to mark the start of your rounds.
RND 1: Work 6 SC into ring. (6 SC)
RND 2: Work 2 SC into each SC all around. (12 SC)
RND 3: Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next SC. Repeat from * to ** all around. (18 SC)
RND 4: Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 2 SC. Repeat from * to ** all around. (24 SC)
RND 5: Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 3 SC. Repeat from * to ** all around. (30 SC)
RND 6: Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 4 SC. Repeat from * to ** all around. (36 SC)

Insert Safety Eyes (7 mm / 0, 28 inches) between RNDS 8 and 9.
Stuff Firmly.
RND 21: *SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 4 SC. ** Repeat from * to ** all around. (30 SC)
Change to Color – 61 (Grey) (optional – any color can be used)
RND 22: *SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 3 SC. ** Repeat from * to ** all around. (24 SC)
RND 23: *SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 2 SC. ** Repeat from * to ** all around. (18 SC)
RND 24: *SC2tog; work 1 SC into next 1 SC. ** Repeat from * to ** all around. (12 SC)
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing hole closed and to attach to lovey blanket.
Hair:
With color – 37 (Light Blue) – make a magic circle /or CH 4; SL ST into 4th CH from hook to form a ring.
Note: Use a Stitch Marker to mark the start of your rounds.
RND 1: Work 6 SC into ring. (6 SC)
For ALL the next rounds – work into BACK-LOOPS only.
RND 2: Work 2 SC into each SC all around. (12 SC)
RND 3: Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next SC. Repeat from * to ** all around. (18 SC)
RND 4: Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 2 SC. Repeat from * to ** all around. (24 SC)
RND 5: Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 3 SC. Repeat from * to ** all around. (30 SC)
RND 6: Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 4 SC. Repeat from * to ** all around. (36 SC)
RND 7: Work 2 SC into next SC; work 1 SC into next 5 SC. Repeat from * to ** all around. (42 SC)
Fasten off and leave a tail to sew hair onto head.
With Color – 33 (Purple) – join into the FIRST exposed FRONT-LOOP of RND 2.
Work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into each loop until LAST loop.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
- Attach hair onto head.
- Attach head to either a corner or in the center of the lovey.
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
