With  3, 50 mm hook (I used Clover)

Chef’s Hat:

With yarn make a magic circle (this is recommended, however if you do not know how or struggle with this method, CH 4; SL ST into 4 CH from hook to form a ring.)

The Straps – Repeat instructions for both sides.

Insert hook into corner SC of the FIRST row (top of apron); CH 41; SL ST into 2nd CH from hook; SL ST into each CH until end; SL ST into corner SC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Finishing – Heart Applique:

With yarn make a magic circle (this is recommended, however if you do not know how or struggle with this method, CH 4; SL ST into 4 CH from hook to form a ring.)

RND 1: Work 6 SC into ring; SL ST into first SC worked.
RND 2: CH 3; work 3 into FIRST SC; work 2 HDC into next SC; work [2 SC; 1 DC] into next SC; work 2 HDC into next SC; work [3 DC; CH 3; SL ST] into LAST SC.

Fasten off and leave a tail (approx. 6 inches /15 cm) for weaving.

Sew heart onto the apron. Optional – Gabby’s heart is sewn onto the bottom corner.
