INSTRUCTIONS

Section Two – Half Flowers
Colors:

  • A – Natural
  • B – Plum

Circle – Make 9

With A and 3, 50 mm (E) – make a magic circle (this is recommended, however if you do not know how or struggle with this method, CH 4; SL ST into 4 CH from hook to form a ring.)

RND 1: CH 2 (does NOT count as a stitch); work 12 DC into ring; SL ST into first DC worked.
(12 DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Section Two – Flower Joining onto Chevron Panel

Tip: Using stitch markers – count 6 SC from the dip of each chevron (see photo) and mark the 6th SC.

With B and 3, 50 mm (E) – join into any SC of RND 1.

Petals: Work 1 SC; SL ST into next SC; CH 3; work 2DCtog into next SC; SL ST into marked 6th SC; CH 3; SL ST into SAME SC.
Work 1 SC into next SC; SL ST into next SC; CH 3; work 2DCtog into next SC; SL ST into between the 2 Dip SC; CH 3; SL ST into SAME SC.
Work 1 SC into next SC; SL ST into next SC; CH 3; work 2DCtog into next SC; SL ST into marked 6th SC; CH 3; SL ST into SAME SC.
Work 1 SC into next SC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Repeat instructions for all 8 remaining half flowers.

Section Two – Completing the Flowers

With B and 3, 50 mm (E) – with chevron and flowers facing right-side join into first SC.

Flower ROW: Work 1 SC into FIRST SC; *CH 6; SKIP next 5 SC;  SL ST into marked 6th SC; CH 6;
SL ST into next circle SC; CH 3; work 2DCtog into next SC; CH 3; SL ST into SAME SC.
Work 1 SC into next SC; CH 3; work 2DCtog into next SC; CH 3; SL ST into SAME SC.
Work 1 SC into next SC; CH 3; work 2DCtog into next SC; CH 3; SL ST into SAME SC.
CH 6; SL ST into marked 6th SC; CH 6;  SKIP 5 SC; # work 1 SC into next SC (this is the 2nd SC of 3 SC group at the point of the chevron). **

Repeat from * to ** 7 more times.
Repeat from * to # once more; work 1 SC into LAST SC.
(36 x 6 CH spaces; 10 SC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Section Two – DC ROWS
Colors:

  • A – Princess Turquoise

With A and 4, 00 mm (G) – with chevron and flowers facing right-side join into first SC.

ROW 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 3 DC into next 6 CH space; work 2 DC into next 6 CH space; work 1 SC into next SC in-between Petals; CH 3; work 1 SC into next SC in-between Petals; work 2 DC into next 6 CH space; work 3 DC into next 6 CH space.
*Work 1 SC into next SC (this is the top of the chevron); work 3 DC into next 6 CH space; work 2 DC into next 6 CH space; work 1 SC into next SC in-between Petals; CH 3; work 1 SC into next SC in-between Petals; work 2 DC into next 6 CH space; work 3 DC into next 6 CH space. **

Repeat from * to ** 7 more times; work 1 DC into last SC.
(92 DC; 26 SC; 9 x 3 CH spaces)
TURN

ROW 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into each ST across and work 2 DC into each 3 CH space. (136 DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Note: this is optional – if this joining method does not appeal the two pieces can be slip stitched together.

Joining Chevron Panel to Section One

Colors:

  • A – Natural

With A and 4, 00 mm (G)  – Join into corner SC of Section One – *CH 6; SL ST into 3 CH space of square; SL ST into 6th CH of chevron foundation row (see photo); CH 6; SL ST into SKIPPED 2 CH space of chevron foundation row; CH 6; SL ST into 3 CH space of square; SL ST into 6th CH of chevron foundation row; CH 6; SL ST into space between next 2 squares AND into SKIPPED 2 CH space of chevron foundation row. **

Repeat from * to ** 7 more times.

TURN

Notehold piece upside down – i.e. flower towards you and the hexagons outward.

Shell Add On: *Work [SL ST; 1 SC; 1 HDC; 2 DC; 1 HDC, 1 SC; SL ST] into 6 CH space. **
Repeat from * to ** 31 more times.
(32 Shells)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
