CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS
Special Stitch:
Picot: CH 3; SL ST into 3rd CH from hook.
RND 44: SL ST into next DC; SL ST into next CH 2 corner space.
CH 2 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into SAME space; CH 3; SKIP next 2 DC;
*work 1 SC into each of next 2 DC; work PICOT; work 1 SC into each of next 2 DC. **
Repeat from * to ** 34 more times; CH 3; SKIP next 2 DC.
#Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next corner space; CH 3; SKIP next 2 DC;
*work 1 SC into each of next 2 DC; work PICOT; work 1 SC into each of next 2 DC. **
Repeat from * to ** 34 more times; CH 3; SKIP next 2 DC. ##
Repeat from # to ## 2 more times; SL ST into 2nd of 2 CH.
(35 Picots; 140 SC on each side; 8 x 3 CH space; 16 corner DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Note: For the next round you will work BEHIND round 44 – the CH 3 space is behind each FAN.
With C – join into ANY FIRST SKIPPED DC of a side on RND 43 – see photo.

RND 45: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next DC; *CH 3; work 1 DC into each of next 2 SKIPPED DC. ** Repeat from * to ** 34 more times; CH 6 for corner.

RND 46: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next DC; *work 2 DC into next 3 CH space; work 1 DC into each of next 2 DC. ** Repeat from * to ** across; work [3 DC; 2 CH; 3 DC] into next 6 CH corner space.

RND 47: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into each of next 2 DC; *work 1 DC into next RND 44 Picot; work 1 DC into each of next 4 DC. ** Repeat from * to ** 33 more times; work 1 DC into next RND 44 Picot; work 1 DC into each of next 6 DC; work [1 DC; 2 CH; 1 DC] in next 2 CH corner space AND RND 44 2 CH corner space – you will work into both spaces at the SAME time to create the corner space.

(148 DC + 35 Picot DC = 183 DC on each side – EXCLUDING corner DC; 8 corner DC; 4 x 2 CH corner spaces) Fasten off and weave in ends.
