Abbreviations:

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)

PART FIVE:

NOTE: I have an optional border instructions also available.

The first is the Petal Border and the second is a plain border.

BORDER ONE (petal):

NOTE: make sure the RIGHT SIDE is facing towards you.
With color – join into the first SC after the POINT 3 CH.

[SKIP 4 SC; CH 6; work 1 SC into next SC] X 6;

[SKIP 3 MESH SPACES (approx 6 SC); CH 9; work 1 SC into next SC] X 7;

[SKIP 4 SC; CH 6; work 1 SC into next SC] X 10;

[SKIP 3 MESH SPACES (approx 6 SC); CH 9; work 1 SC into next SC] X 7;
[SKIP 4 SC; CH 6; work 1 SC into next SC] X 6;
work [1 SC; 3 CH; 1 SC] into POINT CH;
continue down other side;
[SKIP 4 SC; CH 6; work 1 SC into next SC] X 6;
[SKIP 3 MESH SPACES (approx 6 SC); CH 9; work 1 SC into next SC] X 7;
[SKIP 4 SC; CH 6; work 1 SC into next SC] X 10;
[SKIP 3 MESH SPACES (approx 6 SC); CH 9; work 1 SC into next SC] X 7;
[SKIP 4 SC; CH 6; work 1 SC into next SC] X 6;
work [1 SC; 3 CH; 1 SC] into POINT CH;
SL ST into first 6 CH.

*Work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into each 6 CH;
work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC; 1 DC 1 HDC; 1 SC] into each 9 CH;
work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into each 6 CH;
work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC; 1 DC 1 HDC; 1 SC] into each 9 CH;
work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into each 6 CH;
work [1 SC; 3 CH; 1 SC] into POINT 3 CH.**
Repeat from * to ** for other side.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

OPTIONAL BORDER TWO (plain):

BORDER:

NOTE: make sure the RIGHT SIDE is facing towards you.
With Color – join into the TR of the TOP PETAL

Work 1 SC into join TR; *CH 6 – continue down along the side;
work 1 SC into NEXT TR ;
CH 6 – work 1 SC into next TR;
CH 6 – work 1 SC into next TR;
CH 6 – work 1 SC into next TR;
CH 6 – work 1 SC into next TR;
CH 6 – work 1 SC into next TR;
CH 6; work 1 DC into next CH (this is the 3^rd CH of a turning 3 CH;
continue in MESH STITCH along the side (CH 1; SKIP 1 CH space; work 1 DC into next DC/or 3^rd CH of a turning 3 CH;
until start of NEXT PETAL SECTION;

CH 6 – work 1 SC into next TR;
CH 6 – work 1 SC into next TR;
CH 6 – work 1 SC into next TR;
CH 6 – work 1 SC into next TR;
CH 6 – work 1 SC into next TR;
CH 6: work 1 SC into TR on top of last Petal.**.
Repeat instructions from *to **along other side.

FINAL BORDER ROUND:
Into top of FIRST PETAL;
CH 6; SL ST into same ST.
Work 1 HDC into each 6 CH space on the PETAL SECTIONS;
then work 1 HDC into each 1 CH space all along the one side.
Working 6 CH into the top of the OPPOSITE FIRST PETAL; and repeating instructions for other side

CUT approx 30 cm strands of any leftover yarn for tassels; attach to each end.
