Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
Concentration required.

Yarn: Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3 : Light – I used cotton yarn – check the main introduction page!

Hook: 4,00 mm (G)

Size: 23 cm x 23 cm (approx. 9 inches)

Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect

Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – treble crochet

SPECIAL STITCHES:

Starting Cluster – CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 3DCtog – 3 double crochet together – into same space or stitch.
Cluster – work 4DCtog – 4 double crochet together – into same space or stitch

• Butternut – color C
• Teal – color D
• Seafoam – color E

INSTRUCTIONS:

With Color B

CH 8; SL ST into first CH to form a ring

RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 15 DC into ring (16 DC);

RND 2: *SL ST in-between next 2 DC; CH 3; SKIP next 2 DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 7 more times; SL ST into 1st CH of first 3 CH loop.
(8 x 3 CH loops)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With color G; join into any 3 CH loop

RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 3DCtog into SAME 3 CH loop; CH 1; work FPDC around next SL ST;
CH 1.
*Work Cluster into next 3 CH space; CH 1; work FPDC around next SL ST; CH 1.**
Repeat from * to ** 6 more times; SL ST into top of starting Cluster.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With color F; join into any 1 CH space BEFORE a FPDC

RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 FPDC around next FPDC; work 1 DC into next 1 CH space; CH 3; skip Cluster.
*Work 1 DC into next 1 CH space; work 1 FPDC around next FPDC; work 1 DC into next 1 CH space; CH 3; skip Cluster.**
Repeat from * to ** 6 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With color B; join into any 3 CH space

RND 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 3DCtog into SAME 3 CH space; CH 3; skip next DC; work 1 FPDC around next FPDC; CH 3; skip next DC.
*Work Cluster into next 3 CH space; CH 3; skip next DC; work 1 FPDC around next FPDC; CH 3; skip next DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 6 more times. SL ST into top of starting Cluster.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With color G; join into any 3 CH space BEFORE a FPDC

RND 6: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC); work 2 HDC into same space; CH 1; skip FPDC; work 3 HDC into next 3 CH space; CH 2; skip Cluster.
*Work 3 HDC into next 3 CH space; CH 1; skip FPDC; work 3 HDC into next 3 CH space; CH 2; skip Cluster.**
