Fold Up Mini Unicorn Crochet Play Set
A super cute Unicorn themed fun play set that folds up into a little bag/book with pockets for all the parts.
Difficulty Level | Skills Required
Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.
You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.
Materials
- Hook – 3, 25 mm and 3, 00 mm
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
- Glue/Stick on eyes
- Buttons – approx 1 – 1,5 cm in diameter
- Fiberfill / Toy Stuffing
- Black thin yarn or embroidery thread
- Optional – ribbons and beads
Yarn:
Vinnis Colours – DK Nikkim 100% cotton (50 grams/119 meters)
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.
Note: this is a great project to use scraps / left over yarn!
I used approx. 10 grams of each color except for natural.
I used 22 different colors with natural being my 23rd.
My colors are noted in the pattern!
This is a Rainbow project! Use as many or as little colors you like!
Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK yarn, but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.
Tension | Gauge
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect.
Size
Flat – Approx. 10 inch (26 cm) in lenght and 14 inch (36 cm) in width.
Bag – Approx. 7 inch (18 cm)
Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your playset will be a different size!
Helpful Tips | Hints
- With a project of this size, it is recommended to weave in ends as you go.
- It is important to count the stitches to ensure success.
- Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the process.
